THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

in that interview he said....."I told you many times my commitment is not questionable and I have given my word. I always respect my word - it's as simple as that. I have given my word. My word is my word," Wenger said.

No, your 'word' is not your word because many things you say are complete lies, many of which have been quoted on here over the years!! :banghead:
The man is a disgrace and an embarrassment to the club. Sorry but I have to hope City stuff us today, Wigan do us 3-0 and we lose at least 4 more league games, maybe, just maybe then he will walk away in shame. But knowing him it will all be coincidence and bad luck even then!! I hate him so much, how can he be allowed to get away with all of this shit??

He is indeed losing the plot, didn't he say if he hadn't won a trophy in the next 2 years he would leave, 5 years ago?

Supporters who TRUST IN ARSENE or sing "Only One..".are fully entitled to their opinions...but the man they love and want to stay does not care about their opinions.. They have managed Zero games so they are not entitled, in his eyes, to comment. After all if an 11 time Premier League winner's comments are irrelevant what worth the opinion of supporters ?

Bould until end of the season at most..but a new broom from Monday 19th May 2014. Ancelotti may be available if Real don't win La Liga, may be available anyway...bit dour but would certainly attract top players and toughen up (in football and balls sense) what he keeps.

Doubt it. :?

And if he had said that, surely that's a quote that would be endlessly used as a stick to beat him with? so I can't see that one going unnoticed.

The furtherest I can remember Wenger ever going was saying something about having "failed" if we don't win anything over the next few seasons... but, as we know to our cost, failure doesn't = leave. In fact, for players and manager alike, "fail" is often followed by "new contract" :(

"I have given my word and I always respect my word," Wenger said. "My word is my word. So will I definitely stay? Yes …unless I decide otherwise."

Yesterday's remark still shows extreme arrogance.
City can win by a cricket score, and Wigan too, it still won't budge him.

thanks for the Link, but wengers comments don't say anything new.

which bit stood out to you?

all he says is he will decide on his future based on how well he's done this Season with this team. But he doesn't define what he counts as failure. And knowing what we do about the man, 4th may well be enough for him and Stan. Especially if an fa cup follows. Hell. Maybe even being top for a few months is enough.

heaven help us
