Somebody that was in my year at school went into hospital complaining of a numb arm - found he was bleeding from his brain and had brain cancer that killed him within a few days. Wasn't a close friend by any means but he was such a harmless bloke with an infectious grin that nobody had a bad word to say about, if ever there was someone who didn't deserve to die at 22 it was this guy.
Also a university friend of my girlfriend committed suicide a few weeks back. One of those seemingly inexplicable cases where she was a bubbly, outgoing personality who was phenomenally well-liked, attractive and extremely intelligent. Her university housemates found her hanging and although there is obviously a selfish element to it I just cannot begin to try and get into the mind of a person like that who felt they had no other option. I barely knew her but it really shook me up for a few days so can't imagine what her family and close friends must be going through.

Agreed Quartz,I have read loads of his books, they are always a "page turning" yarn, almost films in print,I also love the way that in some of them he would have 3 or 4 different "strands" of a plot going, and gradually bring them all together.I also loved the development, and continuation of his characters like Ryan,(obviously),Clark, and Chavez,
R.I.P. Tom Clancy

Found out a couple of days ago my mate of 20 years Adam Heath passed away from an asthma related heart attack at the terribly young age of 34, far too young.
RIP mate.
