The Summer 2014 TRANSFER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Ya forget about Cesc, Balotelli, Benzema and other big name players. Remy, Aurier and Ospina are coming. Expect more second rate players coming if we're going to sign any more

Wenger has said that nobody moves before the World Cup - oh I see Liverpool have snapped up a decent back up striker this morning. :banghead:
If we bought Lambert there would be a riot on here.
Not if he was 3rd striker behind two strikers Suarez and Sturridge who are better than our number 1 striker there wouldnt be

Ballotelli
Remy
Aurier
A back up 'keeper

Would that please most of you?

Not really the point is it. Plus what happens if Suarez leaves?

From a realistic point of view that is far better than we'll realistically do. Although Remy is a waste of time imo, as many have said Bony is a far better option although slightly more expensive.

I think I would be happy enough but we do need a solid DM, and a good back up 'keeper.

I don't think Ballotelli has been a problem in Italy (correct me if I am wrong) and I think he has grown up.

It would but we won't so it's moot :|

Not sure about the difference between Bony and Remy but the ACON thing would annoy me as they never get back to their level straight afterwards and seeing as he's from Ivory Coast he'dbe there till at least semis.

Bony thrived by being the only striker in a team geared all around the one man upfront and getting the ball to him quicker than we do to Giroud. Remy is more drect than Giroud and moves adman site quicker than both so would be an upgrade there. Need to see him for a full season as his time in the EPL has been so disjointed.

I think he'd get us more goals than Giroud but I'm not sure he can hold the ball up as well as the other 2, especially as AW is obsessed with our lone striker formation.

Who the hell is Ospina....never heard of him.

On SSN, City have indicated they don't want Fab. It's between us and manure imo and we have the advantage of CL football.

If Wenger let's Fab go to one of our rivals, that will be horrific especially as we have first dibs and Cesc will no doubt prefer to come back to us. 20 goals and tons of assists is what you get from Fab each season, sign him up !

Balotelli would be horrific for team spirit, why the fuck should we entertain having another le sulk in the squad.

Wenger will sign some big names don't worry about that

In fact I hear that Jan Venegoor of Hesselink is on his way, and you don't get many bigger names than that

According to Guillem balague, Arsenal have already informed Fabregas that they don't want him back, and generally Balague is reliable.
