THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

augie wrote:Btw can I just say that the recent practice of blaming our medical dept should be halted with immediate effect - yes they are shite and there are serious issues there that need to be addressed, but right now the issue is being used to distract people from the real problem....wenker. Wenger hasn't changed his formation because of injuries. Wenger hasn't changed his gameplan because of injuries. Injuries are not the reason why we have a lamppost, a postman and a Danish lard arse as our only striking options. Getting all those injured players back will not give us the necessary steel in the middle of the park. These are all problems that have been created and nurtured by le cock and it is very convenient that the akb have now stopped defending wenker but have replaced it by blaming the medical problems - defending wenker without even mentioning his name  :x :cussing:
Maybe some are shifting blame away from wenger when they blame injuries but..

Injuries are wenger's responsibility, he should have someone in charge of medicine who has the responsibility. So when the shit hits the fan Arsene calls his ass in, and asks for explanation. Clearly this should have been done years ago and some sort of target to bring the number of injuries down. Bring in an external consultant to audit our approach. But as we saw with Arsene it's a reactionary approach. Only when Ramsey fails to make a comeback does he admit it's time for an investigation.

Seeing as nothing has changed in all the years including rotating more, which requires a bigger squad. It's Arsene's responsibility. Clearly had we had all our players available we wouldn't be struggling right now. If a new manager came in would he keep existing med staff or bring his own? Not a hard question really, they'd get the boot.

That's why I want a new manager. New approach, new players, change the medical systems and methods, new tactics, new start.

Earlier this season when just about everyone on here was predicting our inevitable collapse around the tough run of fixtures it was smugly labelled blind pessimism and negativity for the sake of negativity. Where are those people now?

In our first tough run before Christmas we picked up 2 points from 3 games and got walloped with an insipid performance in Naples. Fast forward to our other hard run of fixtures and we've picked up 5 points from 6 games, frankly being fortunate to get that many.

Fucking blind pessimism my arse. Bet they're all chugging the KoolAid right now.

I'm amazed in general that so many words can still be written on this and all other matters related to the club.

And that's the really sad thinig, while things are totally depressing at the moment it's all been so utterly, utterly predictable. You could release the Arsenal end of season DVD in August every year as you can tell exactly how the season is going to pan out. Pretty incredible that we all predicted this was going to happen when we haven't a combined total of one second in football management

If there was a nuclear apocalypse I bet Wenger would survive it as Arsenal manager. And then rebuild a squad full of useless French cockroaches and pay them 60k a week each.

See that is what pisses me off - some people got carried away earlier this season and actually started believing that we were contenders and dismissed the fact that it was a piss easy schedule that had us top for so long  I understand those that were enjoying the moment while it lasted but some actually had the nerve to abuse and question others who had their eyes opened and could see what was ahead of us :x
As I said a few pages ago, there were a few on here when this thread started 6 years ago and they claimed that le cock should be given two years to sort out the problems - six years later some of those same posters started to flipflop to the point that they actually started to believe in him again  Not alone did those guys give wenker the two years to sort things out, but they actually gave him 4 extra years and then posted comments like the one's highlighted above when we again highlighted the fact that we had not improved one jot

Whatever failings Wenger has developed, it's shameful the abuse he's had to take.
We have become the laughing stock of the country.
He's made us the global club we have become and given his successor a sound foundation to work on.
