THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Will go down as one of the best achievements in CL history.

They'll be a fight for him. But then why leave a side which is working so well for him? He'll reckon that theres more trophies for this side.

Oh yeah could still win La Liga!!

Did you see Simeone jumping around on the touchline, encouraging his team, organising them, the cheating bas**rd :-)

There is a chance that maybe our dear catalan friends might do us a favour of a lifetime and take Arsene from us.

Arsene gets to play in a league where contact is minimal
Gets to coach Cesc and Messi
Gets away from Jose
A better chance of winning the CL. Messi might compensate for lack of tactical malarkeys

I say if Tata can't win the league, there is a chance PSG and Barca may want him. Hell Perez at Madrid might go mental if they go tropyhyless and sack Carlo.

So Wenger may have a perfect exit strategy.

Also, they're banned from the transfer window for 14 months which means Arsene won't be expected to spend any money. :barscarf:

It's a dream scenario for him.

And they also have a youth set-up which frequently produces talent, so Arsene can boost his ego by claiming he is constantly finding young gems 8) .

Look where its got them - just like Leeds and Portsmouth
Or Charlton. The AKB are obsessed with the demise of Charlton after Curbishley left. That's how low they've put their horizons, inspired by Wenger's small-time mentality.

Arsene could do very well at either but he would do very well at Barca .
The tip tap he plays does work but it requires quality players ( that we dont have ) and Both have that but barca
play that every week so its a perfect fit !
Not sure that Barca would be happy at his consulting work for the Owner of PSG though !

In my opinion the only reason that he didnt leave us for Barca or Real before is that he wouldnt have the control that he enjoys at Arsenal, and of course both would sack him at the slightest drop off in trophy hauls !

Barcelona are a pack of *word censored* but they're not a stupid pack of *word censored*. They know as well as we do that Wenger is a busted flush.

What's the Spanish for "illusionary domination"

Imagine Wenger at Barcelona - Song would be made captain and those useless wankers Neymar and Messi would be shipped out to Man City, with Kalou and Giroud coming in

This article claims Arsenal players have criticised Wenger for not preparing enough training drills/dossiers on the opposition.
Don Howe was criticised for spending too much time on the opposition.

Too many of these stories (am inc cazorlas interview) leaking out for there not to be some level of truth in it. If players are turning against him then either the end is nigh, or those players are about to be bombed out in the summer

I've never seen or heard of players actually pleading with their manager to deploy tactical plans for the opposition. It's incredibe! Only at Arsenal.

Well, I'm just glad that newspapers don't make shit up!

Sorry, no, I don't believe for one minute that our mollycoddled mercenaries would even consider for one minute biting the hand that feeds them £50K - £80K a week.

At the outside, I might concede it is possible that Ozil may have muttered something as he strikes me as a winner who is not happy with virtual trophies. The fucking rest? My arse.

While I agree with the sentiment, it's not much of a story just some vague reference to some elements of the squad. Not a lot of hard evidence, but I hope it's true.

No hard evidence at all provided in the article, hence I used the word "claims".

I posted the link because it is a strong allegation for an article.

As with all these things, it is entirely possible it has been 100% made up, or comes from a garbled remark heard third hand from someone who knows a relative of a player?

Or maybe there is something to it, and a senior player or official has used the press to leak something they want known?

But seeing as how it is a subject frequently discussed on here (tactics, or lack of) I posted it. It is not as if someone will immediately cancel their match tickets on the basis of that article.
