Of course what that means is that we will wait to sell cesc and then by the time we sell him there will be no quality players left to replace him   :banghead:
Alternatively, we keep Cesc thus negating the need for an inferior player like Gourcuff. 8)

That is indeed a novel and pleasing approach which means of course that it wont happen :( The only way we keep cesc is if barca cant afford him
Just out of curiousity ihh how many players do you feel are available to buy that are not inferior to cesc ? Imo anybody we buy either this summer or next will be inferior to our capt
I agree. There are few, bar probably the pair already at Barca. However, that's even more reason not to sell him when we don't have to. And we don't have to. 8)

I think the "we dont have to sell him" statement is debatable hlebby - my position on retaining cesc has almost done a full turnaround in that if cesc really really wants to go then we should flog him for a reasonable price cos right now retaining an unhappy player will not be a positive result for us :(
And that's the bit we don't know, save for the media speculation and rumour. I'm sure if Cesc did really, really want to go he would have made it clear by now. Personally I am encouraged by his most recent statement and hold no fears that were he to stay, his performances will slip in standards because he might be sulking.

Although I have no doubt there will be some gooners looking and waiting for the first below par performance from Cesc and claim it as 'proof' for their case that Cesc doesn't want to be at Arsenal.

Hey guys,

Perhaps whilist he was spending his time between the bench and beach during the World Cup Cesc will consider one more season with us might not be so bad after all.

Hopefully he might say to Wenger. OK, I will stay but you need to strenghen the team with world class players, not second hand ones from France...!

:o

Schwarzer keen on Gunners
Sky Sports News understands Fulham goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer would be interested in a move to Arsenal.

Arsenal are believed to have made the 37-year-old their top target as they look to bolster their goalkeeping options this summer.

The Gunners have already seen one bid rejected last month by Fulham for the former Middlesbrough shot-stopper, but they remain keen on luring Schwarzer to North London.

However, reports that Schwarzer has already undergone a medical at Arsenal have been rejected with the player currently away on holiday as he recovers from his World Cup exploits with Australia.

Fulham are loath to lose Schwarzer, but they could face a fight to keep hold of the keeper if he pushes for a move to the Emirates.

Hey! I just heard about a rumour about a player we used to be linked with but haven't actually been linked with for at least a season.

Where from? Just did a Google News on "Cristian Zapata" and the only results coming up are something to do with Cuban politics
