Van Persie saga, officially not extending contract.

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

How does he do that, exactly?

He's under contract, so are you suggesting Arsenal cancel his contract and allow him to walk away for free on Monday morning? - If so, I'm sure he'd be happy to but Arsenal will be seriously out of pocket.

But assuming you accept that that's unlikely (and definitely not in the best interests of Arsenal) then surely you have to be aware that Arsenal and A.N. Other club have to come to an agreement BEFORE Van Persie has the option to "just fuck off", no?

And you wonder why you never got asked back to second auditions for Green Street.

They've just sold Zlatan to PSG.
What would really stick in the craw would be if he ended up fucking off to an inferior team like Milan given that they've just sold two of their star players.

Didn't think of it like that, it would make him a bigger *word censored* then he is now.

Yeah, signing for the 7 times European Cup Winners and 18 times Italian Champions rather than staying with a club content with 4th place and reaching the CL knock-out stages really would be a step backwards!!

Anyways, it's being reported in the Italian media that Milan are after Tevez as Zlatan's replacement so it looks like Man City is still the likely destination for RVP.

Daily Mail I know but confirmation of what we already knew

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/footba ... senal.html

Arsenal scout Gilles Grimandi has admitted that Giroud can be considered as a replacment for the Dutchman.

He told le10sport.com: 'Was the recruitment of Giroud made to compensate for his Van Persie’s departure? Yes, we worked to avoid being cornered.

'We want him to stay home but he is left with one year on his contract so it is complicated.

'At Arsenal, there is a healthy atmosphere, he’s been here for eight years and he has a real commitment to the club.'

Grimandi has also revealed that Van Persie will be sold this summer if the price is right.

He added: 'If there is a great offer and if he wants to leave, it will be difficult to keep him.

'I would never have thought that players such as Thiago Silva could be transferable and that was the case at a time. There are parameters you cannot handle.'

Well if its history he's after then he should sign for Liverpool.

He's stated he wants to leave here because this club don't match his ambition then if he signed for a side that has just sold its best 2 players in an inferior league it would contradict everything he said.
History don't come into it as Liverpool fans will tell you it don't mean much.

Then he should go to Nottingham Forest! Yes they may have only won the CL twice but they're now cash rich and will satisfy his financial needs!! :D

Why would it? As they've shown in the past when they've let equally good if not better players leave, AC Milan will replace them with people capable of winning them trophies - unlike us!! :banghead: :banghead:

Milan are fucked mate. Massive debts that need paying off and have lost so many top players over the last couple of years. The money will be used to pay off the debts I reckon they have no pot to piss in.

Milan will be back though, they are an ambitious establishment and I don't think it will be too long before they are a threat to the top euro teams. Milan won their league not too long ago, so we really dont compare with them in any way.

Meanwhile we can look forward to getting stuffed by PSG in the last 16!

AC Milan are a much bigger club than us...

but RVP won't go there - obviously he will go to whoever pays the most money
and that means one of the oil funded murderous middle eastern monarchy teams
