I believe arseofacrow has declared 152 days mourning. Percy Dalton must also be inconsolable at this time.

What a lifeforce and talent!!!
At the moment I am having a few beers, listening to his album "New York."
I defy anyone to listen to the track "Straw Man",(especially the guitar solo),LOUD,and not have the hairs on the back of their neck stand up in the presence of Greatness!!!

Sad the man has died, but aren't Jazz musician names just the best!

Think that spud twat Paul Whitehouse used to do a sketch on them and I recall the Simpsons had it as a running gag for a while? It's also a great pissed in a pub game - see who can come up with the most pretentious jazz muso name.
Seem to recall I once spent an entire evening being called
Thelonious "Deep Thrust" Poindexter.
My mate Scrappy "Punch Drunk" Quinochette took all the glory that night though....

I like the similarity between the names of West Indian cricketers and towns in Devon/Somerset.
Curtly Ambrose and Shepton Mallet spring to mind!

Love those names!
The Nigerian community in Oireland seem to give their kids fantastic names too. Brilliance is in my son's class and Generous is in my daughters class. Heard kids called Sunshine too. Not sure if it's a traditional Nigerian thing or if only done by their ex-pats in Oireland. Certainly beats "Colin" though...
