Jack Wilshere

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Re: Wilshere charged with misconduct

I want to see Jack fit and a starter for a whole season before I personally pass any judgement on him.

Having watched him closely for the last 2-3 years it is clear even when he was playing that he wasn't 100% fit. All it would take is a kick in the ankle/shin and he's writhing in pain.

For the last few months he seems to be taking these tackles now, with no obvious reaction and has found a streak of form albeit very late in the season. Coquelin as a starter in the team now gives Jack the license to drive forward from deep positions and if he does lose the ball there's always back up. A similar point was made by the analysts after the England game.

Jack is a very direct player, and when we are passing sideways in front of opponents defences not getting anywhere, he does have the ability to pull players out of position, which benefits the other attacking players.

I have a lot of time for Jack, and hope we see more of the same next season. Cazorla is now 31 so may have passed his peak.

How many more injury-hit underwhelming seasons would it take for you to stop saying that?

I thought that about Santi last season too, as the season before was poor compared to his player of the season year , I suspect he will be good for another 2 or 3 seasons. Santis game is all about vision, not pace, though his engine still seems pretty good.

It seems to me that Wilshere saying a couple of swear words on a bus is getting more attention than these racist Leicester yoof that have now been sacked.

It's all about the profile of the player involved, not the story. Wilshere's stock will only have risen with true Gooners anyway, fuck the FA and fuck the ridiculous lengths that society feels it needs to goto to censor things to avoid that dreaded word 'OFFENCE'.

Perhaps we can buy a real CM now and get rid of the injury prone one trek pony!

Useless git that he is.

Reports are surfacing that he's broke his fucking leg after being tackled by Gabriel in training. :banghead:

What is he made from, crispbread?

How has he managed to snap his fib when we only play 5-a-side? :tickedoff:

No fucking surprise here. Sad to say, but he's fucking done. He will never string together more than a game or two. I guess that solves the question of who will play more this season, him or Ramsey.
