So a purchase around ST renewal time. Then! I suspect bugger all. No new forward! and other players will be moved position. Plus a few gone or sold on.

Yep. But don't forget that we will come close to signing many other players. None of whom will be super-quality or better than we already have.
On a more serious note, if Wanker has managed to sign a player early, it's as a result of fan pressure. Now, imagine what would have happened in the last few years, if he had been under the same pressure.

If the Granit Xhaka deal does go ahead it will be nowhere near enough in most peoples eyes, unfortunately i have the awful feeling AW will see it as more than enough in terms of expense, any other deals being done will be in relation to others leaving first.

I hope i'm wrong but we all know by now how he works in the transfer market :rubchin:

Moral of the story, enjoy the summer, no point stressing over this transfer bullshit. If it happens then good, if not then it was expected.

Most media speculation is rubbish. But the BBC are reporting Xhaka is flying in for a medical. The BBC are reputable, and when they report, it means there is a lot of truth in it.

Genuinely believe we will sign Xhaka.

I don't get it. It's a lot of money to spend on a midfielder when the whole world and his mother knows we need a world class goal scorer. :banghead:

I was pondering who will play (assuming Xhaka signs) as it will mean Coq, Elneney and him fighting for one position (possibly 2 against the better teams if we play tight rather than open)
I know we lose Arteta, Rosicky and Flamini but they were just names on the squad list not players that contributed ( Flamini aside for part of the season)

By all accounts Xhaka is a bit of a hard man, and undoubtedly we need more bite, but the actual disciplinary record he has is concerning. It's all well and good going in hard but if you start costing your team in the big games (a bit like Coquelin vs Spurs) then it becomes a drawback. You can go in hard but fair and be physical without getting yourself carded., a bit like how Atletico play whenever I have seen them anyway.

If he does sign, then at least there is decent competition at centre mid (Xhaka, Coquelin, Elneny, Wilshere.....trying not to include Ramsey although no doubts Wenger will!) but like most I have concerns the really glaring weakness in the side won't be fixed.

Good grief, we're actually going to sign someone early. Is Xhaka any good, I've never seen him play?

Yeah, I was thinking the same as Ramsey will take the other spot no matter how awful he plays. Probably Xhaka will be first choice, Elneny second and Coq third alongside Ramsey. Of course Ramsey might be put onto right wing as well.

I would sell Ramsey no matter what price. He's been shit.
