As someone still bitter about last Saturday, that’s how you strike a last minute penalty :banghead:

That *word censored*'s luck will run out soon. They'll get City in the next round or Barcelona with any luck but you just know it will be Ajax or Porto. Anyway, give the little *word censored* the job and watch him fuck it all up by October.

even after the slow motion replay, not for a second did I think that was a penalty. Not only that but I don't think the players considered it either.

VAR is mental.

They’ve just won that game 3-1 without having a kick for the 90 minutes.

Fucking hell.

Anyway fingers crossed for an all English QF where both teams kick the absolute shit out of each other.

I've just seen the incident and that is a pathetic decision. The fact of the matter though is that unless it clearly shows it hitting a player's chest or that he's dived, you will alwys find some evidence to suggest it could be a penalty. Once the fucking thing is being looked at a million times, they will have to give a penalty because it has struck his arm but the whole fucking world knows that that is not a penalty. They have to change the rule on this now. They have to make the rule state that the arm has to show obvious deliberate movement towards the ball and a deliberate attempt to block it or deflect it from its path. That decision tonight is nothing short of an embarrassment and yet further proof that the chumps league is the most corrupt, fradulent competition in football. There are boxing and wrestling matches which are officiated in a more honest manner.

I am 100% against the VAR being in slow motion , once you slow it down the Ref convinces himself it was handball when in real-time he had a split second to move his hand out the way .

VAR is a joke. That ref had no idea if that was a foul.

Football is disappearing up it's own arse :? utterly ridiculous decision to review that incident and it's laughable that it resulted in a penalty. Not for a second did it even cross my mind that it was a penalty, and that was after I'd seen a replay. :o

The problem with VAR is it totally exposes the refereeing teams as incompetent idiots who don't understand the game. At least in a world before VAR they had the excuse of not having replays... what's their excuse now? - sadly, they can't be trusted to make game changing decisions and that's really worrying.

There's no way in the world it's a penalty, and bollocks to it being a clear and obvious error  VAR is eroding the confidence in refereeing ability.

Slow motion replays should be banned from VAR for penalty shouts. It makes everything look a million times worse. Judge it at full speed ffs

That is a very good point. The only times it should be slowed down are when the ref can't be sure if it's inside the box or not or whether a player has been tripped or not. They should also only get a certain number of replays or a time limit to give a decision. Come to think of it, we're probably going to see a spate of players just hoofing the ball at an opponent, screaming for a penalty and then demanding the ref looks at the tv screen to give a penalty. Where do you draw the fucking line with this nonsense? This shit only exists because they wouldn't have goaline techonlogy 15 years ago. If they'd done that when they should have, this shit wouldn't even have been considered.

VAR strikes again in the Porto Roma game, got it right this time though.

Another late penalty expertly dispatched (still bitter about Saturday).

Totally agree. It was a similar situation in the world cup final with that dodge penalty the French were given. The Croatian player was a yard away but when it was slowed down it looks like he had time to move his hand away.

VAR is already ruining the game. But TV people love the drama and its all about them and what they want these days!

Not bitter, I am still angry at that. Right in front of my eyes Auba fucked it up. No confidence in the penalty nor placement. Anyone with a half decent GK training would’ve saved it.

Over Twitter and whatnot all the Manc fans from London going ham over the win and all of the lot convinced it was a penalty, telling everyone to go check the rules book. Pathetic fanbase.

At least we were decent enough to admit Auba’s one on Saturday wasn’t a penalty. These lot all convincing themselves it was and are going by what the wanker on the VAR team said (by the way he said “IN MY OPINION.. it is a penalty” not that by facts it’s a penalty).

Manure have got no fucking chance of winning it and if they do, it will mean the scum or bin dippers haven't won it so there'll be some good to come out if it. Give that little *word censored* the job full-time it'll just be another Di Matteo at the chavs thing and he'll be a laughing stock by October. No decent player's going to sign for him, the players will down tools again by September and the press will be all over them again. To even contemplate that the little snide, smarmy, fake *word censored* is the answer to their problems for that he's a managerial genius is just fucking laughable. Those players don't give a fuck about him, they're just thrilled to bits Maureen got booted out and that they're getting their own way the whole time. It'll all end in another Manure comedy meltdown 10 games into next season.
