THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

The Romford Pele would rather win the cup if it came down to it. Also interesting to note in Wenger's comments near the bottom ....."Everyone can dream of winning the FA Cup at the start of the season," said Wenger. "In the championship you can talk and talk, but we know the biggest budget will win it. I wonder if he will be of the same opinion if Liverpool take the title?
or its just a lie.....

we didn't have the biggest budget in 1998, 2002 and 2004 i'm sure.

Thats progress Dan :barscarf:
look at the table :

9Arsenal FC ENG 25.585 22.671 22.050 21.285 21.328
consistently worse from 2010-2013. 0.040 higher in 2014 (the bayern draw i'd guess...)

Benfica, Athletico, and Valencia all above us.

yes the European dream we sold our soul for and gave up The Home of Football is alive and well :banghead:

Yeah, we all know he is bullish towards the press...it is just more holes in the ground for him to trip up on when he gets found out, ie while we all know Liverpool have spent a decent amount of money, it is still nowhere near the oil money clubs and would be a triumph of the likes he had been hoping to oversee with us, hence making a mockery of such statements as above, as well as that why shouldn't the clubs with the biggest budgets win the cups too?

Sorry just came back from the pub from work, talking bollocks again as usual   while I am here....ONE ARSENE WENGER :barscarf: :barscarf:

He just had to slip in that line about finances, didn't he? Delusional to the last.

Now he's finally taking the FA Cup seriously after all those years of weakened teams.

I'm not a big Wenger supporter, but If we win the FA cup and get 4th that would be a good season for anyone.
So the stick he's getting on here, doesn't seem right. I'm looking forward to getting on the beer tomorrow, and having a cracking day.

Taken in isolation perhaps, and to end the trophy drought would be a definite bonus too. However, we were top for half the bloody season only to collapse, yet again, due to not correctly investing in the squad.

To win the customary virtual trophy and add an actual one would be a perfect way for Wenger to be given a gold watch and pushed gently towards the door.

As Crowded House once said my friend "Don't Dream Its Over". The glory of 4th place hasn't disappeared just yet so no need to reach for the sharp objects.

Remember that glorious night in Udine when your dreams came true?

Sorry, no, I don't believe for one minute that our mollycoddled mercenaries would even consider for one minute biting the hand that feeds them £50K - £80K a week.

At the outside, I might concede it is possible that Ozil may have muttered something as he strikes me as a winner who is not happy with virtual trophies. The fucking rest? My arse.
