THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

sad thats its come to this.
Amy Lawrence - "Yaya Sanogo, who played as if the ball took him by surprise." - that would be funny if it weren't so fecking true. :banghead: :cussing:

Amuses (and angers) me that journalists write pieces basically slagging off Wenger over the last few years when they've had nothing substantially negative to say about him during that time.

Fucking cowards the lot of them. They're on his back now but if we win the FA Cup and start next season well you can bet they'll be singing his praises and mocking the fans who were questioning his future in April. Wankers.

Like so many others there was not one person in my block yesterday nor in the queue to go into the ground or get on the tube afterwards who had a positive AW comment. Surely he and the board will not be so arrogant as to make us pay an increased season ticket price for more of the same dross???

I was intrigued by the piece in The People today which stated that Van Gaal was waiting to see what Wenger was going to do before making a decision on where he goes next. Would be more than happy to have him., Klopp or Simeone in charge next season

Van Gaal is 63. Too old.

He's just looking for a last pay day.

Wonga is older! At least Van Gaal would take no shit and would put a lot of Wonga's pussies right in their place. No place in the team for players playing shit week after week either!! I would welcome a disciplinarian to be honest. Our players have had it easy for ever!

Wouldn't particularly want van Gaal. He's definitely got the experience for the job but I would rather give it to an exciting (younger) manager who would want to build a dynasty rather than somebody who wants to dip his toe in the water for 2 years.

Are we not fucking tired on dynasty building already? Let's get someone who can instantly correct the horrible abuses that has eaten the club alive for years. Let's get someone who can put the basics and foundations of the club back on right track immediately and who can get people doing right things, let it be one or two year project and if Van Gaal is the right man to do it, so shall it be then.

I still think that Guardiola is coming our way but not until couple of years at least. Wenker out now and somebody very experienced, winning manager to replace him, two years project to renew our way of working in the club and most of all, getting us back on winning again.

Bang on.

If we had a choice then I'd agree, he'd be a short-term option at best and we'd have to pick someone else 3 years down the line. Still, I'd take him tomorrow if it meant Wenger leaving but I would hope we'd look at someone like Klopp, Martinez, or Simeone.

Fuck it, if the board are looking shirt-term then I'd even be happy with Fatty Benitez or Bielsa.

It's all irrelevant though as I don't think Arsene's going away any time soon. Sad face.

What is this "winning" of which you speak? I think I can vaguely remember this novel term from back in the mid 2000's, but I'm not sure.
