He's the fourth attacking option in that side. I thought he was excellent at the World Cup to be honest.augie wrote:Can I just say (for the umpteenth time) that lavezzi (sp ?) of psg is utter, utter, utter dogshiteI keep reading people on here saying how much they hope the rumours of him joining us are true, but I have watched him on a few occasions (playing for club and country) and I have never felt that he was anything above average (and on most occasions he wasn't even that good

Re: The 2015 Transfer Rumours Thread
This summer, I would really like to see the following players brought in:
Memphis Depay
Petr Cech (aware JM will never sell to us)
Fabian Schar
Morgan Schneiderlin
Jackson Martinez
Steph Lichsteiner
All of them are gettable, none play at massive clubs (Lichsteiner excepted) and none are on big money (Cech aside)
I'd like to see the following players leave:
Sczesney (good riddance)
Per Mertesacker (as he gets older, he gets slower. Is of no use)
Mik Arteta
Matt Flamini
Danny Welbeck (yes am dreaming but again, a non-scoring striker who plays on the wing? No thanks)
Nacho Monreal
Yaya Sanogo
This is perfectly doable, as Southampton have proved: you move out several players you don't need, and get an upgrade.
In fact only Schneiderlin and Martinez would cost proper money out of that lot. (Cech has just over one year left on his deal)

I'd agree with all that except I'd keep Monreal, who's proven himself to be at least a capable back-up LB.Ikechukwu1 wrote:This summer, I would really like to see the following players brought in:

When are the season ticket renewals these days - April ? No doubt by then Ike's wishlist will look like small beer when the rumours of us spending big take shape. Suarez will no doubt be back in the frame !

That would be Richard Desmond; the pornographer who bought the Express about 15 years agoo and flushed it down the toilet.augie wrote:OneBardGooner wrote:"Arsenal are ready to make an £80m offer for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, 21, as Barcelona eye Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin, 25. Can we please not refer to heroic pornographers as "demented cúnts". It offends my wánking hand.officepest wrote:That would be Richard Desmond; the pornographer who bought the Express about 15 years agoo and flushed it down the toilet.augie wrote:OneBardGooner wrote:"Arsenal are ready to make an £80m offer for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, 21, as Barcelona eye Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin, 25. It's not proper bongo material, DB10. More softcore stuff like 'Razzle' and 'Knave', as I've been told of course.DB10GOONER wrote:Can we please not refer to heroic pornographers as "demented cúnts". The only hope is that when our bid for Pogba of more like £12m is rejected, we hear from our Lord and Master about how we were once 'very close' to signing him before he went to Man UreOneBardGooner wrote:"Arsenal are ready to make an £80m offer for Juventus midfielder Paul Pogba, 21, as Barcelona eye Southampton's Morgan Schneiderlin, 25. My virtual XI has been crying out for some defensive steel at the base of midfield to allow the virtual talents of Ronaldo, Yaya Toure, Zlatan and Drogba to flourish
