THE WENGER THREAD

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Remi is currently in a fight for the fourth placed trophy in France, so ideally suited to us.

Wenger & John Cross, a bigger pair of imbeciles you'd struggle to find. "Wenger is determined to spend big"?! Really?! There is absolutely no evidence at all to suggest that. You're asking a leopard to change it's spots. The man is averse to spending money and is on record as saying he'd hand back £100m and do away with the transfer window.

Absolute bollocks you're talking Cross.

Wenger needs help badly because he trusts very few people but Garde is one of them !
He almost got him in once before as a Director of football .
I'm not sure if his arrival means he will manage or coach and wether Arsene will stay in some capacity or go but Lyon are keen for Remi to stay and extend his contract and he has refused to discuss it with them at this time and the seasons almost over.
Some thing will have to give soon @ Lyon but my guess is that Arsene is still dithering as is to wether to stay or go and will only make his mind up at the last possible moment which willl be at seasons end !

My source openely admits this could be BS because he doesnt communicate with anyone outside of their duties except Primark.

'They are also looking for a long term successor to Mikel Arteta and Wenger wants to bring in a powerful player with a physical presence in midfield'

will translate at the end of August to

'We also have Diaby back who is like a new signing and can play that role'.

Garde, a French manager managing in France not at all setting the world on fire. Yeah, that sounds about the right target for modern day Arsenal.
