Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
According to Mark Irwin, Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains a leading target for #Arsenal & unlike Dusan Vlahovic, would not need persuading to move to the Emirates. https://t.co/0tdHpfMLBa

Mind you I think expecting another Ramsdale effect is a bit much. We thought we were getting competition for Leno but signed keeper worthy of comparisons to Seaman. One of the best signings this club has made in the past 10 years. If we signed a midfielder version of Ramsdale this player would be the next Vieira.
A Tomiyasu esq player in midfield would do fine. Just an effective, reliable, capable and quality footballer with enthusiasm to match.
Xhaka's bridge is burned. I do not understand why he is still here. His toxic relationship with the fans, the fact we transfer listed him. The fact he is the weak link in the first team. I wouldnt even want him as 4th choice in the pecking order. Some players just have an expiry date and Xhaka's time at Arsenal its past its use by date. Its even more frustrating than usual because we actually have a light at the end of the tunnel. A title challenge next season is not outrageous but we cant carry deadwood. We battered City 11 v 11 but Xhaka pulled the thread and it all come apart. Fuking Bernado had no angle and was running toward the byline and Xhaka shit himself and grabbed the shirt. Yeah he didnt yank Bernardo's shirt and it was a pretty soft penalty, but as soon a you grab the shirt you run the risk of giving away a penalty. He cant be trusted.
The bridges burnt comment seemed like bollox to me too

Arteta on signing a new central midfielder:

I am just glad that we didn't sign Coutinho or Ramsey - Both Busted Flushes imo.

Just a thought but what if Lamptey was available to buy from Brighton to play at right back and we moved Tomiyasu into midfield ?John F wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 11:50 amI was thinking more along the lines of a Kevin Richardson type of player that George signed. He is strong, wins his challenges, loves to run with the ball.
I know it a bit football manager but stranger things have happened
Like Sanogo playing in a cup final

Good call Stuart! Lamptey has really impressed me each time I have seen anything of Brighton, if we do buy him we need to do it asap, before his price goes through the roof.StuartL wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 6:32 pmJust a thought but what if Lamptey was available to buy from Brighton to play at right back and we moved Tomiyasu into midfield ?John F wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 11:50 amI was thinking more along the lines of a Kevin Richardson type of player that George signed. Also Tomiyasu has that Old Skool mentality of "You are NOT Going the fuck past me!"

Atletico Madrid are interested in taking Cedric Soares on loan with a view to a permanent deal in the summer. But as it stands, Arsenal likely to be reluctant to let him go due to a lack over cover at RB having let AMN go. @MailSport

I cannot comprehend playing Calvert Lewin over Martinelli. I wouldnt mind signing Calvert Lewin, but as a back up.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Fri Jan 07, 2022 12:00 pmAccording to Mark Irwin, Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin remains a leading target for #Arsenal & unlike Dusan Vlahovic, would not need persuading to move to the Emirates. https://t.co/0tdHpfMLBa
Martinelli playing down the middle needs to happen

Sampdoria are interested in Arsenal defender Pablo Mari & are working to initially agree personal terms with the player. Mari already has an offer from his former side Flamengo & while he likes that option, Sampdoria are working to change his mind. [Secolo XIX via @_GIFN] #afc https://t.co/7DrSsQFxfs

Arsenal have made a proposal for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo, worth €20m + €5m in bonuses, to join the club ‘as early as January’. Palmeiras don’t want to sell the 20-year-old until the summer & only a request from the player himself could change their plans. [@portalR7] #afc https://t.co/ORZbXgnnoD

Calvert-Lewin??!!
Fucking Walcott-Lite. Fuck off.

Re: ALL Transfer talk - merged thread
This could be interesting. I've never heard of him so am curious to see if he's any good and what transpires. He might be brilliant and he might be a Denilson. Who knows.mcdowell42 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 1:20 pmmcdowell42 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 08, 2022 1:08 pmNEW: Arsenal have made a €20m bid for Palmeiras midfielder Danilo.
