Re: Let's All Laugh At Man Utd!
They've got a ton of leveraged debt already, I very much imagine their board will take the view that it is worth one summer of major outlay (followed perhaps by a few more sensible ones) to retain their massive stature and income streams. If they gamble and try and do it on the cheap they run the risk of spending a few years out of CL, which will be far more of a danger than one expensive summer.
There is also money to be made from that playing squad if they are shipping players off left, right and centre. I do agree that they are going to get hardballed when it comes to buying and selling - and they are going to have to accept that for example van Judas is going to go very cheap due to his wages, age and injury record.

UTD will be back with vengeance next season.
Arsenal, UTD, City, Chelsea, Spurs (who have a really good pts tally and of course Liverpool all fighting for top 4 positions. 4 into 6 doesn't go.

Re: Let's All Laugh At Man Utd!
We all think they've been poor this year. Vidic and Rio leave for nothing, Evra will probably be joining them.If Shaw for 27mil is true they'll be spending 65+mil just to stand still.
Cleverley, Carrick, Kagawa, Felleini, Rooney, RvP etc won't be getting any better than they are now.
imo a successful future is far from certain. This thread could run and run.

The vidic of 2 or 3 years ago would walk into any team in the world, but the 2014 vidic is barely able to walk and a league as intense as this is too much for him these days.
Ferdinand and evra are a pair of c*nts that are well past their expiry date - what is even worse than that, is that they are a pair of despicable sneaky c*nts who undermined moyes at will last season and these two w*nkers are not the type of characters a club should be bringing into their teams so getting rid of them is progression in itself
So all in all I don't see that spending 65m could leave them standing still - like it or not they are still a massive club and they are about to clear the decks and bring in some quality players so the days of laughing at the likes at cleverly, Rafael and johnny evans in a manure team could be coming to an end

Re: Let's All Laugh At Man Utd!
knew it.
woodward confirmed today that the only target MU have next season is reach 4th and the CL.
their debt is DOWN to 351million.
i'm telling ya - if the wheels fall off this year and they don't make 4th, they are in big big trouble financially.
all the more important that we invest this year imho.
