Other Matches Thread

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Is there a fucking more beige team in the league than Southampton

Bottom of the league, 9 games to go, ground half empty, players playing like it’s a pre season friendly - absolute fucking gash.

I hope we put 10 past them in a few weeks and send them down for good

Amazing that the VAR officials can draw lines against Brentford to help the Geordie beheaders!

Refereeing body admits Brighton should have had penalty:

Here we go again with the apologies. How is this happening time and time again? It's just not good enough and clubs should start taking legal action or asking for the games to be null and void.

It's like it used to be with the retrospective red cards. Doesn't change anything for team affected. We're going to start seeing clubs demanding matches be replayed or restarted from the moment in question.

You could nearly put your mortgage on the refs giving pens all over the shop today ,trying to make up for their mistakes yesterday

The Blindingly Obvious Truth is that the PGMOL are Not Fit For Purpose:

How he manages to stay so calm is beyond me.

In the mid-week game, there's Fat Tongue clutching his face like he's been striped with a tasty blade and get's the opposite player red carded, their defender makes a challenge that is 100% a pen and fuck all is done (again).

Yep, absolutely right. Not fit for purpose. I think the only way out of this is either a wholesale sacking of the VAR officials and the bringing in of new ones or that the Premier League admit that their refs can't use the system effectively and hand control to UEFA from next season.

I’ve never been one to buy into the bent referee conspiracy theories and have always gone with the incompetence line, but there’s been some well iffy decisions this season and those decisions in the scum game yesterday were scandalous...to the point where it did seem bent.
