saw it many years ago but cannot remember it.

I'd struggle to pick out a favourite comedy. There's been so many really good ones.

Some of my favourite films should give you an idea of the type of thing I like:-

In America (Fascinating insight into a childs mind)
Shipping News (Judi Dench is world class)
An Unfinished Life (Redford and J-Lo are superb in this)
Saving Private Ryan (WW2 as near to real as you could get)
A Good Year (Nice Light hearted story of a forgotten childhood)
Schindlers List (Thought Provoking)
Once Upon a Time in America (DeNiro at his finest)
Blood Diamond (De Caprio's best role to date)

Comedy wise I guess the Monty Pythons were good, Shaun of The Dead, Run Fat Boy Run (I can relate to that one), Porkys (the original and best)

i'm not really a big fan of Steve Martin - The funniest film i saw him in was when he played a retard with Michael Caine - can't remember it though

I prefer Classic British Comedy & War Films

Two Way Stretch
The Ladykillers
Norman Wisdom Films (too many to list)
Hell Drivers
Sailor Beware
The Cruel Sea
633 Squadron

Was that "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels" where they were both conmen and part of his con was to pretend to be an invalid?

I remember that too. Didn't she turn out to be the uber conman.woman called 'the jackal'. I do remember the bit when he claimed to have no feeling in his legs so they were hitting them really hard and he wanted to scream but couldn't. Classic scene.

Steve Martin has been in some very funny films, and I agree with pivomit, Planes, Trains and Automobiles - with LEGEND John Candy - was fantastic!

Films I like....

Schindler's List (an emotional masterpiece)
City of God,
12 Angry men,
Pulp Fiction (and anything by Tarantino!)
Shawshank Redemption,
Mulholland Drive (and many David Lynch films)
Donnie Darko,
No Country for Old Men (and anything by the Cohen brothers)
Volver (director, Pedro Almodóvar is a legend and his films a great!)

But, obviously there's sooooo many great films!

Sir Alec Guinness, what an actor! The Ladykillers was an awesome dark comedy. Absolute crime it was remade and set in America.

I have to admit that one went right over my head. I just didn't get it.
Exactly what was it about?
