Looked like a crab RaM... How often do you see them over there? Ive been to Perth WA a couple of times and saw a couple of red backs but had to search hard to find them, i heard you get more over in the East. Isnt it the Huntsman spiders that are huge but harmless?

I don't see them much at all actually. They're further east, towards the coastline. That being said though, I don't exactly go looking for them. Could probably count on one hand the times I've seen Funnel Webs.

I see a fair amount of redbacks near my house all the time. Huntsmen are common too, but you're right they're not dangerous. Just big. And I used to have a heap of trapdoor spiders in my back yard but after we got a new lawn I haven't seen them at all. The bush right behind my house would be full of them though...

And there's this other type that my uni is absolutely crawling with...they're all over the place. But I don't know what they're called. Big, black and orange haha.

When I was younger I used to poke sticks into their tunnels. The trick was to drop the stick before the spider could run up onto my arm.

Game ended when my younger brother, in imitation of me, ended up with a spider on his hand scaring the hell out of him. Didn't bite him but when he ran in and told mum it was the end of games with the trapdoors.
