Those Gooners going to United Away this Saturday...

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Those Gooners going to United Away this Saturday...

Post by Cesc is God »

If you are still going, even after tonights game, fair fucking play to you.

Again like our game against them last time in the CL, it could be a fucking nightmare. And we all realise this what we could be facing come Saturday afternoon... With this in mind, a HUGE big up respect for all you going.

Up the Arsenal! :barscarf:

I'm not. You should all realise what I'm saying.

I think it's going to be a bit more complicated than that, Calo. And if one set of fans are gonna sweat, it's gonna be us clearly.

Even if we do beat them 17 - 0, they still only need 1 point against Hull - And that's IF Liverpool win both of their remaining games.

It would be nice to chant "One Point And You Fucked It Up" but I think we'll get battered again.

I will be there hope we make them manc *word censored* have to get something from hull.

This kills 4 birds with one stone

1 mancs will be shitting themselfs for a week
2 scousers will get their hopes up but will be sad in the end.
3 Hull will be more likely to get relegated
4 Barca play aginst a man u team that will be tired from sunday so they have a better chance to win the CL.

I'm going to the game because following Arsenal is just something that I do, and as much as I hate Man U, I'll stay to the end to applaud them as champions if necessary. That's firstly because I uphold Arsenal values as class in sport (fuck the who are ya brigade, whatever happened to the clever, funny chant), and secondly because I'm relieved that the Chavs didn't buy another title, which would have been a right pain in the arse.

Of course, I look forward to the day when we'll challenge them to the wire again. :barscarf:

thats what i used to think, but if you think about it whats the difference between them an man u?
ferdinand = 30m
berbatov= 30m
rooney = 30m
anderson+nani = 30m

man u can be just as rightly accused as buying the title.

But everyone spends /some/ money (yes yes except us moan whinge aren't we hard done by etc). The Mancs have spent many years building up a football club - yes they spend money, but it's in keeping with their status, history, etc. Before the Glaziers came along they were still a top club, like all clubs they had good and bad patches throughout their history, but they were up there.

The Chavs were /not/ up there. They were also-rans at best before Abramovich landed, then suddenly they spent loads of money on Damien Duff and Glen Johnson, and expected to be taken seriously, and put on a pedestal with the true great European clubs.

So in my opinion, there's quite a difference. It's why I have grudging respect for one and... nothing positive whatsoever for the other one.

Ill be at OT because watching Arsenal is what I do.

Those players need to bust a fucking gut to win that game if they are proud to wear that shirt and spare us the indignity.

United are successful because they spend what they don't have. Lets sometimes remember, that for years we have punched above our weight under Wenger.

However since they built the Emirates, the investment in the team didn't happen even though they fleece us for higher ticket prices to pay for the investment they promised us because of higher gate receipts.

Despite this, I'll always be an Arsenal loyal.

I'm going, fuck United, going to see the Arsenal and just hope the lads don't roll over and do make a fight of it.

Will be gutted if the team get caught up in the whole party atmosphere and make it easy for them, that won't be acceptable for me.

Would like to see United made to sweat for this last week and hope the team puts in a stint and gives us fans something to smile about, meeting up with two of my Manc mates up there so don't want to have to face them being smug afterwards or ill be sacking them off and getting on the first train back. :twisted:

we'll be blasting out renditions of maybe its because im a londoner on the train on the way back! lol

These players need to get stuck in and not roll over like a puppy having its tummy tickled. They've all been around the block now.

You're right Gunnersaurus, we can't accept a roll over.

Oh Wenger, please leave Diaby at home for this one.

They are facing a formality so the pressure is not going to be there, if they roll over it will be a disgrace and will just sum up the season.
