Really, if they thought replaying a game was opening a can of worms what the hell do they think suspending somebody from the World cup for a yellow card offense is going to do?

I would have no probs with fifa introducing bans for offences like this if they passed a rule in the summer time to enforce it from then on so everybody knows where they stand. In my opinion you cannot and should not try to introduce a ban like this in the middle of the season and try to hide it under the guise of an existing rule :roll: It is funny that enforcing stricter action against thuggery doesnt come higher in their list of priorities :oops:

So you'd be ok for every player to be banned from major tournaments because they handle the ball?

The ONLY reason this is being discussed (obviously) is because the handling led to a goal. Rules are rules, and whether somebody does or does not score from breaking the rules should not make a blind bit of difference in the eyes of the football authorities.

But it does because the people at fifa are clowns

There is nothing Platini can do ..he is head of UEFA not FIFA...if FIFA want to carry this through there is nothing Platini can do about it
