I haven't personally Mr G.... my only tip is don't use a cab, their fucking expensive.....

Watch out for Navaho country, they not too friendly to cabbies.

The Top Gear team did one a year or so back. I would recommend that you copy what they did exactly.....but don't run away like them.

Blimey ****`y; it was in 1981!!! There are great places to stop like Big Sur to watch whales, fabulous scenery all the way and very light traffic away from the cities. We had a Cadillac (natch) but I wish we`d had a convertible. We took two days but it could easily be stretched to a week with stopovers etc.

In that time you could take in Vegas, Grand Canyon and Hoover Dam; that was our full trip.
