11 DAYS OF HOPE & STRESS

Post by All_Arsenal_1886 »

WITH 11 DAYS OF THE TRANSFER WINDOW LEFT AND I'M HOPING WE SIGN SOMEONE, IF NOT A PERRMANENT BASIS THEN AT LEAST ONE OR TWO LOAN DEALS.

I REALLY BELIEVE WE CAN CHALLENGE FOR THE TITLE BUT WE DO NEED BACKUP PLAYERS INCASE OF INJURY'S TO KEY PLAYERS, I.E GALLAS WHO IS OUT FOR 3 WEEKS.

MATT TAYLOR WOULD BE A GOOD BUY BECAUSE HE CAN PLAY ANYWHERE DOWN THE LEFT, I HAVE READ IN PAPERS THAT PORTSMOUTH ARE WILLING TO SELL HIM FOR AROUND £6M, I DON'T THINK THATS A BAD PRICE.

ALSO OTHER PLAYERS WHO WOULD BE GOOD ENOUGH AS BACK UP PLAYERS I'M SURE ARSENE AND HIS SCOUTING NETWORK COULD FIND SOMEONE WHO IS AVAILIBLE ON LOAN OR OTHERWISE.

I'M NOT SAYING SPENT MEGA MONEY ON ANYONE, I LIKE THE TEAM AS IT IS ANYWAY BUT WOULD BE A BIT HAPPIER IF WE HAD MORE BACKUP, LOOK A UTD ALREADY THERE SQUAD IS BIGGER THAN OURS BUT THEY ARE ALREADY STRUGGLING WITH INJURY'S AND SUSPENSIONS.

ALSO JANUARY IS THE AFRICAN NATIONS CUP AND WE WILL HAVE A FEW PLAYERS WHO WILL BE GONE FOR UP TO 7 WEEKS.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE ARSENE DON'T MAKE THESE 11 DAYS AND THE REST OF THE SEASON HELL FOR US GOONERS

Signings

Post by lowerwest »

I genuinely dont think we are buying anyone..if we wanted them we would have done it by now. This summer has been a total disappointment and our manager still hasnt committed himself to us. Yes he might sign but what does that really mean in the long term.
The fact is 2 or 3 more signings like Sagna may turn us into at least an improvement on last year. U should always try and improve..currently we wont do that.

I think you've hit the nail on the head .. You should try to IMPROVE each year . Man United ( almost as a statement of intent ) always make a major signing every year wether they have won the league or not . It's something we could learn from .

last season manpoo sold van nistelrooy and only bought carrick and they won the league. As wenger said a few months ago, stability is very important, especially with a young team.

Have just read AW's comments that there is nobody suitable for Arsenal at the moment, "either they dont exist or at a very high price".

Thought we had took scouting to a different level? If we think these players don't exist, we have brought it full circle.

Who is deciding the price is too high, Board or AW?

Anelka for 9m seems ok to me, that would leave us 6m in the kitty before we have wiped out what our summer transfers netted us.

Can anyone think of a good, realistic CB we should go for who is old enough to vote?

Also, a goalscoring left sided midfielder.

I'm sure they exist.

Arsene makes the calls on players, the board just try their best to get them for him.

It seems set he will sign and long term that means having a brilliant manager who the players love and who can see us through these difficult years money wise

last season manpoo sold van nistelrooy and only bought carrick and they won the league. As wenger said a few months ago, stability is very important, especially with a young team.[/quote]

If stability is the key then we should be winning the prem, the fa cup & maybe even the world cup cos the one thing that hasn't unsettled our squad over the last few years is a flood of signings. In fact if truth be told the thing that has unsettled the players in the last few seasons has been the constant selling of our top players(for peanuts too) and I never heard Wenger say at those times how important stability is.

My feelings on the whole lack of signings issue over the summer has fluctuated but I am now firmly in the angry corner. The squad is neither good enough or deep enough to challenge for trophies and if le boss doesnt see this then maybe he needs a shake up as well. I know I will get a load of responses from the "Arsene Knows" brigade and, while I have been one of them myself for 90% of his tenure, I am now beginning to question the great man. In my opinion if he doesn't sign anybody before the transfer window shuts then he is basically sacrificing another season because none of us can expect any player to arrive in january to settle straight away and be the driving force that will lead us to silverware. Do the fans that believe that Arsene Knows really think that the great man has made no mistakes in his time at our club ? This, what he is doing in the last 2 years as regards buying and selling of players, is one of these mistakes and I am afraid it will have huge consequences on the future of this team and the club in general.

I have to say as regards the whole matty taylor thing that I wouldnt want to see him join us and its not only because he is a spurts fan(assume we all knew that?). I would def take anelka back in a shot, would love to see queresma join(how long have i being saying that) and given that we are now left with just 3 centre backs (thanks to gallas's injury & the riduculous decision to send djouru out on loan) another centre back wouldnt go astray either. Failing that, if you really dont want to spend any money Arsene, you could try almunia on the left wing(i'd rather him there than in goals) and fabiniski and centre back because we do love our players to be versatile dont we ??

Sorry if I've pisht any of ye off but I am feeling well depressed over this and thought it is only right that some of that depression gets shared around so I dont feel all alone.

not fully up to date with their transferability (possibly a made up word) but we have previously been linked with Phillipe Mexes and Sergio Ramos to top class centre halves, wouldnt say know, surely if tottenham wankspurs can attract ramos we can
