I pay for albums if the artists deserve it.

Support local/smaller bands who are independent and refuse to bow to record companies. They're the sort of bands that require purchases.

For artists that are "big" or more popular I generally download unless they're good enough for me to want to own their album.

I download the occasional film, but DVD's are so cheap and come out so quickly that it's hardly worth the hassle. And the quality is often poor.

My daughter downloads all her music for free.

Have to say though that I spent hours last night trying - unsuccessfully - to clean viruses off of our desktop. Three of them were embedded into music files. The PC will now have to go in for repair....the cost of which will more than wipe out any savings from free downloads. Of course it may be that they actually came from some of the dodgy sites I visit (the wonders of PrivateBrowing in IE....) but I prefer to blame it on the kids  !

To be honest I'm quite lucky at work! :D

I sit in the corner of the office with my back to the wall of files. Basically anyone that approaches down the room I can hit the old ALT+tab well in time.
This means I'm free to do what I want....within reason.

Our lunch breaks here is an hour anytime between 12-2:30. (being back at your desk at 2:30)
Most of us listen to music so technically I could watch a film in that time and not look inconspicuous.

Only prob was the IT. The IT Police had taken down the ability to use media player and the same on real time. Winamp wouldn't work either and all these was due to missing codecs.
Luckily VLC came along and fixes all this!

VLC is small programme (like MP) which I copied onto a USB stick and saved and 'hid' the file deep on our server. It's small in size it's unnoticed.

So Basically at lunch I watch downloaded movies or series from home copied onto my USB stick.
On the stick currently is the latest episode of the Pacific, I'm getting into the Clone wars for some reason plus I've got 'catch me if you can' to watch! 8)
