Does anyone else here make their own and would you recommend this Hobby?

don't know about that, but brewing your own beer is fucking AWESOME

I've started growing grapes....but only sown the seeds last week.

Not tried it, but invite me round when you have some and I will help you drink it.

No I've only sowed the grape seeds. So just a couple of pots of earth to look at for the moment. No idea if they'll even grow!

No I've only sowed the grape seeds. So just a couple of pots of earth to look at for the moment. No idea if they'll even grow!

Now I know bugger all about cultivating but my brother-in-law gave my father a vine (? small tree-looking thing) a couple of years backs and last summer it grew loads of grapes that were small but very sweet. Alas we ending up throwing a lot of it away.

Problems encountered were:

a) keeping the birds and insects away from them

b) converting the grapes into something drinkable.

As a horticulturalist you also have to learn about how to store your produce after harvest.
Well I have a good selection of 'other' beverages currently in storage.

I'm suprised you don't grow your own.

Don't want to serve the time, so I won't do the crime!!! Talking of which, yet another of my suppliers has been caught and is looking at a 4 year stretch!!

Some wine's are best enjoyed indoors.


In the Carribean there even have to chill the reds a bit as room temporate is too hot.
