Hapoel Tel Aviv were 2 points behind Maccabi Haifa today going into the last matchday of the season. Hapoel had a better goal difference.
Haifa were playing Bney Yehuda and going into stoppage time, the score was 1-1.
Hapoel were Going into stoppage time playing against Beitar Jerusalem in the same result (1-1).
In this situation, Haifa are champions.
on the 93' minute, Hapoel scored! They lead 2-1 and after Haifa falied to score against Bney Yehuda, Hapoel were crowned champions..
As a Maccabi Tel Aviv fan, I'm sick to my stomach. It doesn't get much worst than that for a fan.
Amazing drama to say the least... All this happened 10 minutes ago, and I'll call sick at work in the morning.
A team crowned champions after the 90' minute mark on the last match of the season. This time I was on the wrong side.

Your team and the other Israeli side were not even playing each other....so it pales into significance.....

The 2 top teams weren't even playing each other, so it's not
really like Anfield '89, is it?
Still a dramatic finish to the season though, Daniel!

Not as exciting as Anfield '89 but sounds exciting nonetheless.
Arsenal vs Hapoel Tel Aviv in 1951 was first match played at Highbury under floodlights.
Herbert Chapman had installed them in the 1930's but the FA refused to sanction their use because they were thought to be, in the contemporary words of Sir Rumbold Peppermint-Humbug, "Illuminations of the type used by bounders and cads and therefore thoroughly un-English."
