Is the new ball spoiling the games?
I think so.
I like to see free kicks knocked over the wall and into the net..
No chance of that in this world cup imo. :(

It does seem to be, so many players mis-judging bounces and all free kicks go over the bar, it seems to have too much bounce on it, the players cant get to grips with it

typical world cup rubbish, fucking average teams, fucking average players...it really pisses me off how good european clubs miss out so the likes of fucking New Zealand, North Korea, Algeria can take part

i am certain Russia, Sweden, Belgium, Rep Ireland & Croatia would beat most of the shite out there

I have played with the new World Cup ball and it is odd. Feels too light, bit like one of those plastic ones that used to have all the names of the First Division teams printed on it.

No, that's only part of the problem. I played with one of the new WC balls on Saturday and they are light as fuck. They go everywhere once they go airborne.

Quartz's comparison to a cheap plastic football is pretty accurate... :?

On that Asian Football Show on Sky, I saw quote a bit of Bahrain and to be fair, they'd be more entertaining than new Zealand, australias younger brother!!

the weight of the jabulani is exactly the same as the other ones. there's no weight difference.

i played with one yesterday, and i played in goal. didn't look so different to me, and not lighter at all, even if i did misjudge a few aerial balls tbh.

We play regularly with Nike T90's and you can feel the difference when you kick the them. The new ball "feels" lighter off the foot. It also "travels" alot more whilst airborne.

Also you play in goals - you are not entitled to an opinion. Think "the band and the drummer".

Further, you are a fucking proper dwarf (smaller than spuddy, rebel, me, fwank etc) how the fuck did they let you in goal??!!! :-P

it was a 7-a-side game (yep, we play 7 a side with full pitch sized footballs), and i am not really a goalie, only played there because my thigh was not 100% and unlike arsenal players, i DO try to play football even if i'm not in complete physical perfection.

the good thing was that i let some fabianski-style goals in and at the end everyone accepted that the jabulani was to blame :D :D

To be fair, any ball you kick would go anywhere..... I'm surprised you noticed any difference... :?

One of my friends bought the low-grade replica (the £25 Jubilani ball) a few months ago. It's absolutely no different to any other modern ball (ie, a decent quality football made in the last 2/3 years). I'm playing in a tournament in a few weeks in which we have the high-grade replica (the £90 version) so I'll pass on my opinion then :D
