Mick Mcarthy's Commentary Gems

I have been impressed with Mick's insightful comments during the world Cup - here are a few of my favourites:
My team practice elbowing in the face all the time, it's part of game - nothing wrong with that challenge
The player is a tart - push the eye back in, he'll be none the worse - nothing wrong with that challenge
It were only a half Nelson, I can understand the ref booking him for a full Nelson. Must get the video of that for the lads - nothing wrong with that challenge
The lad is making the most of it, the foot is still attached to the leg - nothing wrong with that challenge
OK, it's a decapitation, but it's an unintentional decapitation - nothing wrong with that challenge
And from another source:
"I see no problem in the players carrying knives. If you win the ball because the other player doesn't have a knife and you can stab him a bit then that's OK - Nothing wrong with that challenge"

I'll add in the gem from earlier when he started slagging off the Serbs for not being more adventrous when 1-0 up against the Germans with less than a quarter of the game to go.....

There is
no delay - that is the merely the snail-like pace of an agrigultural intellect in full flow.

"He does get whacked, and I tell you what, he asks for it when he starts dancing over the ball at 4-0".
From today's Portugal vs North Korea game.

Looking forward to a good kicking against Wolves next season then as they've just signed Stephen *unt from fellow cloggers Hull. He should fit in nicely with MadMick's cultured football style

You obviously never saw him play then, mate. He was hard as fucking nails. Took no prisoners. Proper old school hardman.
Of course he is a total twat as a commentator, but I'd love to see someone say that to his face...

Defo agree, he was one hard bastard.
Dont want to start the Keane-McCarthy debate again, but i always felt that the fact that McCarthy was such a hard fecker in his day and Keane liked to portray that he was one too, was part of the issue between them. Rather than they seeing it as common ground i think they saw each other as comptetition.
