Pacquiao - Mayweather Jr. may be on again. Thoughts?

Think you're right on Pacquiao knocking Mayweather out but Maywether winning the decision although the delay if this happens may see both of them beneath their best. That would be a shame. The good news is it would add to the unpredictability. The differing styles and that uncertainty combined really throws this one in the air.northbankbren wrote:If this happens I will do my upmost to be there.
As for who would win the fight. What makes this one so interesting is the fact that it is so unpredictable.
Pacquiao has the power to ko any welter or light welterweight, he is so quick and can really take a punch, but also make a comeback in a fight. In recent times he can be guilty of not working the body enough and looking a bit too much for a quick ko, but that will happen when you ko hatton in two rounds.
Mayweathers defence is second to none and his counter punching is second to none, his chin is good but he has never been tested with combinations to his chin. Many would say he is boring but technically he is miles ahead of the game at any weight, and people really underestimate his power. In my opinion Mayweather is the pound for pound champ.
I have to say I am a massive fan of both fighters but Pacquiao for me is the most likable and genuine boxers out there at world champion level. Mayweather is so arrogant, but rightfully so, boxing needs character like him. As for the fight.....
Pacman will need to get in quick and really try and overwhelm mayweather. When mosely hit mayweather on the chin in round 2 or their fight mayweather paniced and didn’t know what to do till he got back to the corner. Mayweather will need to be his typical self when he knows he can be ko’d, defend and counter punch. The fight I feel will ultimately come down to who’s the fastest.
I would want Pacman to knock him out, but I think Mayweather would probably win on points or late ko.
Hmmm - I think Mayweather is more the naughty guy than the bad guy. His arrogance actually really works for him. Pacquiao isn't American I wouldn't say he's a bad guy in the media but sort of a lesser known quantity. I would say a lot of fans - real fight fans - think like you and really like or respect both guys at least - me too.(I'm kind of an old-school fight fan and that's why I love this fight - it's up there potentially with some of the fiights I grew up watching (late70's 80's-early 90s).northbankbren wrote:What do the majority of those over in the states think of Pacman?
Would he be fan favourate?
Do the us press play mayweather as the mr bad guy?
Money-wise it would be the biggest fight of all time.USMartin wrote:Hmmm - I think Mayweather is more the naughty guy than the bad guy. His arrogance actually really works for him. The Welterweight division from 1978-85 or so was simply amazing - Leornard, Duran, Hearns, Arguello, Cuevas, Benitez, Pryor, Palomino, Floyd Mayweather Sr - just a phenomenal era in one the great weight classes
Can't argue there at all. The other problem is all this Ultimate fighting crap. I mean if I drunk I'll give it a ttry cause its fucked up like I am then! But its a crap sport.northbankbren wrote:Money-wise it would be the biggest fight of all time.USMartin wrote:Hmmm - I think Mayweather is more the naughty guy than the bad guy. The problem with the current era though is that belts and world championships mean little. Mayweather is openly a "prize fighter" its all about the money. Also so many weight divisions. You will never get the massive fights constantly because of this...and promotional politics.
Tournament like the Super Middleweight Super 6 is a step in the right direction. Get the top guys at the weight to all fight it out.
Could you imagine with the current crop a Light-welterweight and Welterwight Super 6!!!!!!!!!!!!
Now that would be AMAZING!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Does anyone know when Ricky Hatton is fighting next?
Yeah I hear he was pretty much done ages ago. I'm not as big on boxing as Bren at this point, but saw him say as much once or twice.merson_is_god wrote:I want to see some posters on here end up in a Boxing match together...might end a few disputes on here!
