My girlfriend and I are planning to head out to Zante in September...what's the place like? Any good? Is it worth going to?

went there 3 years ago aged 28 and was the oldest bloke on the island by a mile!!!


me and the mrs done a late deal to laganas,got a massive long strip full of bars more than anywhere else i can think of,loads of fighting,bloke in our hotel got stabbed in the neck 1st night,found a dead rat outside our room!!

cracking if you are 18-25 i reckon,and single not the greatest place for couples,a few decent eateries,beach was average too,need a good 2 mins walk along the coast either direction from the strip for a somewhere nice,dont get me wrong,i like a beer and dance with the rest of them,but man the place doesnt calm down until after 6am!!!


its what you make it tho,you might love it and have a belter,but was a bit too much for me and the mrs,poor accomodation never helped us,so et somewhere 4* or above if you can afford it!!

How far is Zante from Athens? If say we get Panathinaikos in our first group game, I'm thinking of doing one of the Greek islands before the game and looking into Zante....

Lad I used to work with had a similar experience out there 2 years ago. His mate got hit with a tire iron in the face by a local after a near miss at a traffic lights, needed 20 stitches. Cops did fuck all. He said there was a lot of aggro with the locals. Hated the place.

Having said that, this lad was a bit mouthy so maybe his mate was too. I suppose it's like anywhere, keep yourself to yourself, be respectful to the locals and you stand less chance of getting stabbed/slapped/raped/eaten...

I love zante to bits went there back in 2006 and had a super fab time from what i can remember!

Which resort you going to?

We don't know about the resort yet...Laganas sounds shit! Where did you go NBG?
