Taught her is not really the thing......

I think it was when she heard her mother call me a wanker for spending the house keeping money on tickets for some meaningless footy match last sunday.....

Mancini prepared to let Given go
Roberto Mancini says he will not stand in Shay Given's way if the out-of-favour goalkeeper decides to leave Manchester City.

Joe Hart started City's Premier League opener against Tottenham last weekend, ahead of Given, and his heroics in the 0-0 draw have confirmed him as first-choice for the season.

Given, 34, said he must be playing regularly at his age and Mancini accepted that he may be fighting a losing battle in his efforts to keep the Republic of Ireland keeper at Eastlands.

"The position of goalkeeper is different to the rest of the squad," said Mancini. "But I can say that I hope Shay will stay with us. But I accept his position. I hope that he can stay with us because we have four competitions. But I respect his wishes if he wants to leave."

City unveiled new £22.5million signing Mario Balotelli today and are confident of completing the signing of Aston Villa's James Milner within the next 24 hours. Milner is on his way to Manchester for a medical, with Stephen Ireland going the other way as part of the £26m deal.

Balotelli has come to the Premier League from Serie A with a reputation as a troublemaker. But the 20-year-old former Inter Milan forward said such a reputation was unjustified. "I'm not a bad boy," said Balotelli. They say this in Italy but I am just a normal guy.

"I am happy to be here and I have always wanted to come to Manchester. There were a lot of teams interested in me over the summer but my first choice was always City. I always told this to my agent. The reason I wanted to be here was because of the manager and because it's a good environment for me to improve.

"It is very important to me that Roberto is the manager. It was one of the most important factors. If he wasn't here, I probably wouldn't have come to City. He always showed faith in me when I played for him at Inter and I think I will fit in to the Premier League, because for a striker it's an ideal league, compared to Italy, which is quite tactical.

"I was sorry to leave Italy because I have my family and friends there - but not professionally. Professionally I am very happy to be here in Manchester."

Balotelli was subjected to racist abuse in Italy but said he did not anticipate such disgraceful treatment in England. "As far as I know, there is no racism in English football," said Balotelli. "There were two or three incidnets in Italy that were quite bad. It was very unfortunate and I hope I don't have them again."

Mancini said: "Mario is a good player. He can be a very important player for us. I hope he will be a goalscorer. He will be a fantastic player for the future. He is young, just 20 years of age, and I think he can improve."

"On Milner we must wait and see. I think it will be done today or tomorrow. He is a good player. He can play in different positions. And I hope the deal will still involve Stephen Ireland."

Sorry to post all info regarding Milner and Balotelli also but thought best to post full article...

Does this mean though that they would sell to a rival? The Rival being us...we have sold them £40mil worth of players in recent times...maybe they could return the favour...PLEASE :barscarf:

Caught Offside saying it would cost about £11mill, can you see Wenger spending that amount of money on a goalkeeper? :?
