Advice for London Christmas Vacation

At the risk of being ridiculed, I was hoping somebody could give me some advice.

I am looking into the cost of renting a three bedroomed apartment in London for a week next Christmas (2011). I know I am early but I think I need time to work out how much I have to save.

I have searched around on Google but was hoping for some local knowledge. Ideally, the apartment would be close to tourist attractions as I am bringing down the chin tribe (four children) and the mum/dad in law.

If anybody knows of a nice and not too expensive let please let me know. If there are annual xmas events I shouldn't miss then please let me know what to do and what to avoid. :D

Call D. Ream. On and ask for the Harringay Tourist Board. They have plenty of flats for rent.

Seriously, you're probably best getting a serviced apartment for a week. Will cost you a few quid, but these will be your best bet. There are hundreds of them in Westminster. The reason I know this....because I lent the money to build them (my Bank did).

Good luck.

Thanks Frank. Do you have a good link or contact?

Try the Westminster one on the first link. It's £250ish per night, which I know is steep.

We've also financed Student Accommodation, which is cheap, cheerful and central. See the below link. Definitely worth a shout and frees up more cash for more important things.

Try Citadines.com, they have appta in Holbourne and near Trafalgar Square. I have used them and they are quite good and sometimes have special offers.

Cheers BR.

I have just given them a call. Unfortunately they don't do 3 bedroomed apartments which means I'd have to find a different room for the in-laws. Whilst that is an attractive proposition for me, I think they want to wake up and see the grandkids running about.

:D

Why don't you try places a little further East, like Hackney? The prices should be a hell of a lot cheaper and you'd only be a 15-20mins tube ride from Central London. 8)

Cheers IHH, I have put in an offer for a three bed near regents park and an apartment in Hacknay.

The universities dont offer accomodation over christmas so it looks like I'm going to need some of Rolys' inspiration at the bookies.

Now accomodation is sorted can I trouble you good people with local knowledge of xmas events I should not miss?
