Is Chamakh as good as promised?
He's a very average footballer, that is good at heading. Even Kevin Davies is better at holding up the ball and closing down.
Last night he was pathetic. Where this myth comes from that he works hard and is a fighter comes from I don't know? More bollocks from Comical Wenger.
Ian Wright worked hard and was a fighter, would you honestly compare this garbage player to Wrighty? Not a chance.
There is about as much fight and work ethic in this guy as wet paper bag.
I'll get torn apart for this post but again, he was hyped as a tough fighter and with an incredible work rate like Tevez or Rooney.
What a load of shite, he is nearly as lazy as Adebyor and up for a fight? What a laugh, he didn't even celebrate vs the **** as a supposed life long fan.

He is average but still way better than we have available apart from a fit RVP. I would say none of our strikers are out and out strikers. So yeh I would agree Kevin Davies is better and would score far more goals.
He started well but has been a bit disappointing recently, I always found a player who took a while to settle usually delivered more in the long run, eg DB, TH, RP, where as those not just at Arsenal, who landed running usually fizzled out after a few months eg, Reyes, Yeboah, and that Italian at Boro whose name eludes me at present.

What are we aspiring to?I Hate Hleb wrote:Better than what we had but not top level would be my assessment. Love the fact that he works his bollocks off and he does give us a different option of sorts in the middle but seems to lack a natural goal-scorers instinct. Good, but not quite good enough for what we should be aspiring to.

chamakh won 5 tackles out of 13 sunday if i'm not mistaken. our "holding midfielder" song made ONE fucking tackle in the entire match.
so yes, i think he works hard enough. i like chamakh and i don't think he is the biggest problem in this team right now.
the problem in this team lies in midfield. wilshere was not good sunday, rosicky was absent, cesc didn't change things much and song in this stupid role he is playing is completely useless. add to that a useless arshavin who only wasted possession up front and didn't help clichy at all defensively, and we have a useless midfield.
wenger was never good with tactics, but this season he is breaking his own records

Chamakh is just as good as I expected. He has 10 goals already more than a lot of other strikers. He works very hard, holds up play usually well and is usually looking to get in the box or in behind the defence. As BG said he attempted 13 tackles and succeeded with 5. Song attempted 3 and made one successful tackle.
There are other areas of the team we should be looking at.
He could be a great partner for walcott and van persie in a 442.

As others have said, he's better than most that we have but in reality he wouldn't get in to most top sides. I think we're slightly desperate because without him we have Billy Bendtner, Vela and Theo
+'s - He runs around a lot, good in the air,
-'s - He's slow, doesn't hold the ball up well, not likely to create anything on his own

I'd disagree with those two. Hes been on his own and has played in almost every game. I think the poor performances we've seen recently are down to that.TeeCee wrote:As others have said, he's better than most that we have but in reality he wouldn't get in to most top sides.
