Mate of mine served for years in the 'Screaming Eagles ' . Battle hardened dude and served in the first Gulf etc . He gave me the box set many years ago and always remember him telling me that no matter how many times he
watches it , always brings tears to his eyes .
Brave men , one and all .
Actually above said Guy is a hardcore Chelski fan from Arizona and has roped me into going to The Bridge v Wigan in April so may need Band of Brothers style flak jacket for that one .

RIP.
I read Stephen Ambrose's book about Easy Company long before it became the HBO show and it was one of the most inspiring books I've ever read.
One of the most incredible and inspiring things I've ever read was the account of Ronald Spiers' run through German lines to link up the two seperated units at Foy under heavy fire. And then he ran back through them again to consolidate the link up. Bravery beyond words.
Terribly sad to read that Winters has died. A true leader of men and a warm wonderful person that never forgot his friends and the men that served under him.
Sadly, there aren't many Easy Company men left now. Ron Spiers, Shifty Powers, Alley, Lipton, Doc Roe have all passed away over the last few years.
RIP.

One of life's diamonds.
Immensly impressed by the man.
He had me in tears during an interview on the Band of Brothers. He said that his grandchild asked him if he was a hero during the war. He replied that no, he wasn't a hero, but he had served with many of them.
RIP Sir.
