I went into Sainsbury's today and saw a 'Draper 14-piece jointed rachet screwdriver' for £6, so I went to the till to buy it and the lady asked for ID (after confirming with the manager that it was indeed a potential weapon and therefore available to over 18s only!)

FFS, look at the bloody thing...

http://www.sainsburys.co.uk/sol/shop/ho ... 4294960373

Can that really be classed as a weapon, and aren't we going way too far by restricting the sale of such items??

So, just out of interest - what other innocent everday items are considered weapons in the uk???

- cutlery? :?
- cocktail sticks?
- kebab skewers??
- 40" tv's?? (bloody hurts when dropped from a building onto your head, I'm sure!)

where does it end?

Newspapers could be classed as offensive weapons.

Roll one up tight and poke someone in the eye with it, if ya don't believe me.
