The Desmond Dekker song was great.

Funny lyrics, though.

"Me ears are alight" :?

Shit, missed this. I'm a big fan of UK reggae, particularly the 70's stuff. Can I recommend an album called Don't Call Us Immigrants on the excellent Pressure Sounds label as it is a first class introduction to the genre. Just paid around £20 this week for the Naturalites 'Picture on the Wall 12". Another classic.

Saw them twice in concert last year to celebrate their 30th Anniversary in Birmingham and at Southend and as you rightly say they were awsome. 8)

I've just spotted a comment on that youtube link which I thought was very funny......

(quote)You need a bit more variety in your house if you've been having the same breakfast for 37 years. One night in east London about 30 years ago, I got so stoned that I thought I'd walk to France. I got as far as Peckham, and a Jamaican saked me to help push start a car. The next morning, I woke up in a freindly squat full of Jamaicans. I said " where's the guy with the car?", and a girl said " he ain't got no car" - so I'd helped him nick one.(quote)

More tonight on BBC4 from 9pm.

They are showing "Rocksteady", saw it in cinema, good film.

Plus more stuff next weekend.

Loved the Specials but they were Ska not pure reggae. And in all honesty they developed into a bit of a pop band towards the end (like Madness) :(
