Dont believe it but even if it was true it still wouldnt cure the need for a big 6ft 4" commanding centre back

Would leave us with some decent CH pairings which could be rotated to suit:

Vermaelen / Djourou / Koscielny / Jagielka

Squillaci, Miguel as back up?

Just looked at his wiki, he's 5' 11" so agree with other post about needing that commanding 6' 4" figure.

Sorry to sound Xenophobic but he's English. I think we saw what a British midfield did yesterday... these boys care more than the foreigners, don't care what others say. It's true!

Any possibility of Squillaci playing is bad. And Miguel - who can say yet whether it's good or not?

Djourou and Koscielny themselves have a lot of improving to undergo.

Agreed that Djourou and Koscielny still have improvement but they need to be paired with the right people. Agree about the Squid...

a) knocking one out to her with the saggy boobs of the house show

b) on .com , saying that it's a done deal!

c) celebrating his made-up National Taxi day

d) all of the above, at the same time.

Fair enough.

To be honest though, I'd say QUALITY has more to do with it than their passport! Ramsey and Wilshere are good young players and have all the characteristics you want to see... BUT so did Vieira and Petit (who were probably our best ever midfield partnership) and they were... dare I say it... French!!

And, of course, I'd take Petit and Vieira over Huddlestone and Jenas any day of the week.... wouldn't you?

Point being, fair enough for liking the grit and determination that our younf Brits, Ramsey and Wilshere, bring... but lets not be silly about it, eh!

Not convinced about Jagielka. He's OK but IMO we need a big, top-quality CB, not just another not too bad one.

Not true, that was a fake Mike Parry account!

Just curious, why does the defender need to be 6ft 4?

Just needs to be powerful and good at heading. Djourou is 6ft 4 but hardly a beast.
