There have been enough R.I.P. threads recently.
Time to honour one of the greatest musicians ever!
Today´s his 70th birthday.

Blonde on Blonde from 1966 is one of his best and one of my all-time favourite albums! Image

Didn't think he'd make it to 70 a couple years back. Highway 61 Revisited beats Blonde On Blonde everyday. Both great albums. I would love to see him at Finsbury Park in the summer. Someone should give him and Arsenal shirt with Dylan 70 0n the back. Happy Birthday Bob. :barscarf: :barscarf:

I saw him play at The Brighton Centre in the mid '90s. I got the Evening Argus, and on the front page it announced he was playing there,as a guy from Brighton had just written his biography.I told my boss,(who was a Gooner),but he thought that I was winding him up,until I showed him the paper. He then told me not to come into work the next morning, but get in the queue to get 4 tickets, and he would sign me in! It was a good gig,one in which he played a liberal smattering of his "classics",which he apparently normally doesn't do.
Happy Birthday your Bobness!!!

Love his songs - but only when someone that can actually sing covers them. :?

A supremely gifted songwriter but an absolute cat strangler when it comes to the singing...

:coffeespit: :coffeespit: :coffeespit: :coffeespit: You Crack Me Up DB Really You Do!.....

But you're right, he is probably one of the finest song makers in modern times - along with the likes of Joni Mitchell, Jackson browne , Van The Man (who is a *word censored* as a person - BUT a great song writer/singer)

The thing is there are some songs that his bobness writes that he also sings Very Well...especially on Desire.... 8)

The greatest songwriter of all time, whom I myself share a birthday with. :barscarf: I beg to differ with the comments regarding his singing, no one can sing Dylan like Dylan.

Bob sang best on tour in '75 with The Rolling Thunder Revue, bootleg series vol 5. He was off his rocker most of the time which probably helped.

when I saw him on his Love & Theft tour in Berlin in 2001 or 2002 he was on fire.
He was actually smiling on stage! :D
