Interesting, i know plenty of people who are vociferously anti the tory party but get them talking on actual issues and no way are they leftists. In-fact of the three main parties they are probably tories.

Not saying this applies to you, just an observation of some of my family & friends. The *word censored* 8)

If 'far right' did not have racist connotations I would be far right.

Instead, I guess I'm conservative right.

I'm a socialist as well. Its different here though, depends where you are. I can see why there would be less in the UK.

Actually I'm not even sure what the real differences in far left and socialist are in the poll. Alot of the socialist parties here are far left.

It is quite a UK-centric definition come to think of it. By socialist left i generally mean old labour, people who favour command capitalism far more then the mainstream centre-left of today who are generally only interested in increasing taxes and preserving state employment without much significant change to the economic structure. I would consider far left to be your student pub dwelling, marxist ramblers that want to completely overthrow capitalism inbetween using mummy and daddy's dirty capitalist money to fund their cannabis habits.

Anyone who doesn't like my definitions can get the fuck out of my thread, now THAT is politics for you

I actually thought it was the other way around :o

Anyways, I'm a leftist but I don't believe in a socialist revolution, not because it's stupid, but because after the USSR experience I don't think this can happen any time soon

I think people from different fomer cccp states would have different views of it, estonia, latvia and Lithuania for example seemed to have it better than most did in Russia, but Russia had it much better than the euro-asian countries heading down towards Afghanistan, Turkmenistan etc.

Some i have spoke to who have been part of both think they swapped the soviet union for the european union but it will soon end in the same way in terms of finance for them.

Probably Conservative right.

I actually did a Politics degree for my sins and used to be really into it. Now, like most people, I can't be arsed. Our government's a bit like Wenger. It cocks up all the time, but nothing is going to change....

The thing about socialists is that they don't practice what they preach. If they lived on a council estate full of asylum seekers, people sponging off the state, violent crimimals and hoodies, they might feel the same way as a lot of people. If all MPs didn't have a gold-plated defined benefit pension they might see the total cock-up they have made in this country. They are insulated in their ivory towers and are made for life once they have been an MP for a term.

Socialists have fucked this country. Asylum in un-sustainable numbers has raped the UK of it's identity. People are now taught to be ashamed to be British. Look at the BBC last week. They want to replace BC and AD with some other benign term. They don't want to fuck off Muslims etc. This is England for fuck sake. Socialists have also encouraged a generation of illiterate scum that live off of the state and merely detract from it. That's the thing about socialists - they bribe people to vote for them. When the money runs out they are fucked and they then sit in the shadows criticising the Tories for cutting services. It's called balancing the books. Socialists are c@nts.
