Jack Rodwell to sign?
www.arsenalnewsreview.co.uk reckons we are in for Rodwell.
If true, would you partner him with Wilshere in central midfield, with Arteta or Ramsey in front?
Note sure where else he would fit in, not sure he would prosper further forward but time would tell.
I am sceptical about Song leaving, but if he does, then I would have very few worries if we replaced him with the promising Rodwell.

Let me help you mate....not very reliable

Are you on the beer mate ?

Of course that being said rodwell wouldnt be my first choice (would prefer somebody more experienced & more physical/dirty) but he would be a big upgrade on song imo

Stories like this often surface when a player has played a few decent games, suddenly has a higher profile and his agent sees the opportunity for an improved contract.
imo Rodwell is a decent prospect but still a risk. It wasn't long ago that people were talking about his lack of progress. A couple of average games and they will be again. Having said that I'd prefer him to Song.

Agreed- tbh Everton are probably fueling the fire. They've got fuck all money and have probably seen the good reviews he's had from the internationals and thought "I know, lets try and see if we can sell him for a ridiculous amount while the hype is at its peak". He's a good player, but they'd want crazy money for him- Andy Carroll is a prime example of how clubs can be made to pay a ridiculous sum for someone who isnt worth half of it if he's English. I think he's better than Song, but not worth what they'd want for him. As an unrelated aside, I'm delighted that the "golden generation" (of which only Ashley Cole deserves the title) are finally fucking off the international scene, but having seen the way Rodwell has been getting hyped up, and having seen Jones compared to Hierro this morning, I'm already starting to worry that we're going to make the same mistake again. Until you've had a very good international tournament and your team have done well, you're fuck all on the international stage. In Jones case I believe the lad has 3 caps- a draw in Montenegro and then 2 friendly wins, far too early to be lavishing stupid amounts of praise on himSpanishJoe wrote:Stories like this often surface when a player has played a few decent games, suddenly has a higher profile and his agent sees the opportunity for an improved contract.
