And let's just go back to how this whole sorry episode has come about
1. Sell Clichy
2. Sign Santos and then play him in the most meaningless match of the season, despite the fact that.......
....3. The permanent walking injury that is Kieran Gibbs is still err.....injured
Things aren't much better on the right
1. Sell Comedy - nothing wrong with that decision in isolation but........
2. Sign a 19 year old lad with a handful of appearances in League One under his belt as the replacement. Nothing against Carl by the way - I like the lad and really hope he succeeds but he should never have been thrown to the wolves in the way he was at OT and WHL
If we don't make the CL spots then as far as I can see everything points back to the total mismanagement of the transfer window in the Summer. Shambolic. Yes, we've been unlucky with full back injuries but the decisions on Comedy's replacement and playing Santos in Greece were two avoidable management mistakes

The first assessment is whether there is any inkling of truth in the story. From Mancini's quotes its clear he wants him gone, and if Wenger is quoted properly then perhaps there is a chance of it happening now Gibbs is fucked
Personally, I think Wenger needs to have a long hard think about this. As the ultimate seeker of truth and justice he has bemoaned City's wrecking of his project and their whole ethos....and yet would seemingly turn a blind eye to signing one of its main symbols of 'new money' i.e. a 90k per week useless wanker that can't even get in the side ahead of a makeshift leftback like Zabaleta
A club whose arrogance shocked Wenger when they openly stated their interest in Nasri in the Summer....but we'd be happy to go to them with a 'pretty please' loan offer for their 4th choice left back (yep Clichy, Kolarov and Zabaleta all ahead of him)
Personally I would stick with Miquel or Vermaelen out there. If Wenger doffs his cap to these *word censored* then as far I'm concerned its yet another example of the club we're becoming.....

If its purely a loan whilst you've got injuries I dont think it'd be a bad move tbh- experienced player who can help you whilst you get players back to fitness, himself eager to prove to Mancini that he can do a good job. Wouldnt sign him like, and even on a loan you wouldnt want to be covering much of his wages, but if the terms were right its not the daftest suggestion I've heard

sorry to sound arrogant SAFCFTM but we are the Arsenal.
We shouldn't make do with such lousy players, wayne bridge was an emergency signing for west ham last year, they went down. We tore wayne bridge apart last season at upton park and he was shite, and now we hear WE'RE going to possibly loan him in in january, after we were screaming for wenger to sign a quality fullback.
Why does a club with resources like us loan in players? We loaned in benayoun as well, it's just stinks of panic buying.

Mate, read the above. Wenger and Arsenal have been so critical of City's approach, but would seemingly eat the crumbs from their tablesafcftm wrote:If its purely a loan whilst you've got injuries I dont think it'd be a bad move tbh- experienced player who can help you whilst you get players back to fitness, himself eager to prove to Mancini that he can do a good job. a) the guy is utter ***** and couldn't do a job at West Ham
b) a club that is utterly loathed by Wenger & our 'forward thinking' board will now firmly establish themselves in the 'master' and 'servant' relationship
Fuck Manchester City and Wayne Bridge. I would rather play Ignasi Miquel there for a month and if Wenger dares to take a player on loan from them, then I don't want to hear a single fucking word about financial fair play rules from his mouth ever again.
Oh, and if we do sign him, then all the other shit about how unfair it is for Spurs to be able to play Adebayor against all the other top clubs apart from Man City presumably will be forgotten....because it will be OK for us to put Bridge in against United and the Scummers whilst our other full backs recover?
Aye, fair points I suppose. As I say,in terms of a signing I dont think hes anywhere near good enough for the Arsenal, and he definitely isnt worth 90 odd grand a week, but as a stop gap loan player I think he'd be fine. Fair enough you could sign someone like, but if Wenger is (rightly or wrongly) happy with his options at left back, its unlikely he'll want to bring anyone in and if he is going to spend money (which I know is always a bit doubtful with Arsene) he might well see a loan of Bridge being a good emergency option allowing more to be spent on other areas of the pitch which are equally pressing. Obviouly you'll know better than me though, if left back is a priority that desperately needs to be improved, Bridge is the wrong answer whether loaned or boughtHenry Norris 1913 wrote:sorry to sound arrogant SAFCFTM but we are the Arsenal.
