FA release report on Suarez

The FA have published the evidence about suarez and its not good reading for suarez or liverpool.I cant find a link but basically suarez was rascist in his comments to Evra.He called him blacky a few times and when evra asked suarez why he had kicked him suarez replied in spanish "because you are black".
The frenchman, who was described as a credible witness, said he would punch suarez if he repeated the comment to which suarez is said to have replied in spanish "i dont speak to blacks"
Suarez gave unreliable and inconsistent evidence according to the report.

It amazes me how Liverpool and Chelsea can state that they will stand by thier players guilty or not. How to condone racism

The most ridiculous part of the statement was that both the fa and evra "do not believe that suarez is racist nor intended to be racist" in this incident

Wtf did suarez mean then ? I am by no means politically correct but I have never understood the difference between somebody making racists remarks and an actual racist

The report actually says that Suarez wasn't racist, but didn't think the excuse "this language is commonplace in Uruguay" was acceptable.
The excuse is similar to Asamoah Gyan butchering Ashley Cole with a machete during a game and using the fact that Homosexuality is outlawed in Ghana as an excuse.
Hmmm...

Not having read the statement just picked snippets out of the SSN bulletin when you tell a guy you kicked him because he was black and then in the same breath tell him you dont speak to blacks if thats not racist wtf is.
Anybody have a link to the report

Interesting thing, and I think the reason he was found guilty, is that Suarez admitted to calling Evra 'negro' in one exchange even though he didn't admit to the exact interlocution as Evra claims.
I think that particular admission in itself is what the entire 'sentence' is based on and the rest is just padding. The fact they brought in linguists, and also the fact that the verb that Evra quotes Suarez as using (i.e. tu eres rather than sos) I find really interesting.
That could have been a major sticking point too. On another thread I mentioned about my interest in linguistics and this usage of verb by Evra could have been really used as a way to get Suarez off the hook - as long as he didn't admit to using the word 'negro'.
When you read the report, it makes great mention of the usage of the word 'negro' in Rioplatense Latin American Castellano - which Suarez would speak as a native - and how it is not always used as a racist term. I'm not condoning racism, and neither am I sticking up for Suarez, but the fact that Spanish linguistic experts were brought in would have been a boon for Suarez in his defence. Interesting he didn't choose to utilise this...
Still, linguistics 4evz

That was the best part of this for me - minus his suspension giving us a boost

As you say Lyus 'negro' is not always used in a pejorative sense in the Plata delta... I too find the linguistic aspect interesting. I can't see how it could be pejorative if you are using 'eres', but to say 'I don't talk to blacks' is obviously unacceptable.

Very embarrassing for King Kenny and Liverpool.
They came out in defence of Suarez, crappy T-shirts et al, convinced he was innocent but now aren't going to appeal.
Sensible but not very logical.

Liverpool and Dalglish came out of this so badly, it's the same out of them all the time.Had to listen to it on New Year's Eve about how Suarez was innocent. Fact is he isn't and if Dalglish had any respect for football he wouldn't have behaved the way he did either. Sadly Dalglish has no respect for anyone but himself. His adoring fans have been let down by him in the past and may well be again..

Usual Mousers reaction to controversy!
Deny everything and blame the authorities = tick
Whip up 'a them against us' scenario = tick
Release statements totally at odds with the facts = tick
Wear a protest t-shirt = tick
Sooner or later a newspaper will get blamed and it will be full house in Bindipper Bingo!
