The End of the World as We Know It...RVP off?

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

RVP's twitter... Looks extremely bloody likely. I am trying not to read too much into it... But I'm still on the verge of a breakdown. :|

Wouldnt read too much into it tbh, its not as if the bloke is City's owner, need to find out who the lad is before you can really draw conclusions. If they were tapping him up, he wouldnt be daft enough to post a picture of the evening- a lot of these blokes who are guests of Man City and clubs like that probably have their fingers in a lot of pies, might well be related to sponsorship or some such. If RVP leaves I dont think it'd be to an English club

as if he'd be stupid enough to put a photo of the two of them discussing a potential move over dinner on the internet. after the sunderland match in october he said he was commited- well call me a gullible dick cuz I believe him. He is our captain and everything. Surely he sees the treatment nasri gets and realises if another arsenal player leaves to city it's going to spark a bit more friction. If he wants to win something so badly he'd go to united, plain and simple.

Quote this back in the summer, I'm about 98% sure he's staying 8)

so who is that guy in the middle of the RvP photo? Is he part of the Man City management team? I thought I've seen him before.

He's an Arsenal supporter and owns a box at the Emirates ..Not Man city at all..I know him well

As I have said with CF4, if they feel happier to move on because our club shows absolutely ZERO ambition, then good luck to them. I do think that RVP is Arsenal through and through though, so it would take him a lot to be reconsidering his options(even though he doesn't have much of a contract left with us).

I think that if RVP leaves in this summer, it won't be to a club in England, and you can quote me on that 8)

To be fair twitter is a notoriously shite source for anything- someone saying the blokes an Arsenal fan doesnt really mean much- on the original link posted he looked pretty pissed off at the emirates last week and there are another couple of photos of him with the city lot so if he's a gooner he's got a funny way of showing it. But like I say, RVP wouldnt be daft enough to post a picture if it was about a move to city and I doubt he'd go to city anyway

So silly, RVP hangs out with a man of Middle Eastern descent and all of a sudden he's "off to City".

Regardless of whether you place any credance to this link or not, the fact remains that if rvp doesnt sign a new deal before august 1st then he should be sold by the club without hesitation. If he is committed to the club then get him to sign a bumper new deal (an injury clause would be nice though) and we move on trying to build a team around him but if he isnt committed or isnt sure and wants to delay longer then selling him while his value is still high is a no brainer to me

Agreed, absolutely no repeat of the Nasri/Fabregas bollocks of last season. Sign or go to the highest bidder, preferably sorted by the end of June before they report back early July for pre-season.
