Following Arsenal abroad - Where have you been?
All this talk of planning for Cologne has reminded what i love most about following our club, travelling across Europe and sometimes beyond to watch them in different cities and stadiums.
Just wondering where everyone has been to so far? Friendlies included.
My list thus far:
Stadio Olimpico - AS Roma
Stadio Fruili - Udinese
San Siro - AC Milan
Mercedes Benz Arena - Stuttgart
AWD Arena - Hannover
Celtic Park - Celtic X 2
Camp Nou - Barcelona
Estadio Dragao - Porto
Karaskakis Stadium - Olimpiacos
Pepsi Arena - Legia Warsaw
Partizan Stadion - Partizan Belgrade
Sportzentrum - FC Neusiedl am See
Bukit Jalil Stadium - Malaysia XI
Hoping for a trip ideally to Russia this season, anywhere in Eastern Europe is fine by me though.

Re: Following Arsenal abroad - Where have you been?
Remember a great trip to Standard Liege, 7-0
even Eddie McGoldrick scored.
Missed Udinese but think I've been to all the other Italians we've played
Torino (Francescoli manmarked by hillier young Beni Carbone) AC Milan(supercup, best team
I've ever seen), Juve, Fiorentina, Roma, Inter(5-1 at the San Siro!) all bar La Viola more than once.
Missed Real Madrid but seen us Messilated from the gods at Camp Nou twice.
Shit seats deliberately spaced out, classless, embarrassing.
Big contrast with my ma and pas's chat about how amazing Bernabeu was
Great days bad games in Valencia several (3?) times
Villarreal greedybarndoor rubbish but scored unbelieve volley
Battered in Munich (snowball fight, Kolo's first ever bad game for us)
Daniel Carvalho volley lost 1-0 CSKA Moscow
1-1 v PSG first ever 1-0 to the Arsenal chant, we weren't even winning 1-0
There's more but this coffee is getting a bit much for me
Gonna head back to the hotel for a lie down.

Re: Following Arsenal abroad - Where have you been?
remember both goals well, Davis fk to Wrighty ghosting in headed down past Lama
ginola header from a corner. Sick team - Weah was on the bench ffs!
for some reason remembered them in the wrong order
wasnt even pissed - dry bussed straight in, Police escort.
their fans were fighting each other
and throwing stones at our coaches coming into Paris from motorway overpasses
was more like playing away up north in the late 80s with a little ferry, trip in and out.
Not like the two finals we've lost in Paris - actually had truly great nights out after both bitter defeats

Re: Following Arsenal abroad - Where have you been?
A free kick as I remember, from the edge of the box, hit so hard the keeper had no time to react. Much like Gerrard's at Anfield against us in the 1-1 that season.highburyJD wrote: Daniel Carvalho volley lost 1-0 CSKA Moscow
Does anyone remember the return leg of that tie? I don't think I've ever seen us draw a game we so thoroughly dominated. Rosicky had about 4 open goals.

Re: Following Arsenal abroad - Where have you been?
this year very much depends on the draw
if I can match up the trips to work (Amsterdam + at a stretch Spain) or to free places I can stay then maybe
fingers crossed for Ajax
