Brilliant Ian Wright interview

As we're unlikely to see terraces again at football, this is the virtual equivalent where you can chat to your hearts content about all football matters and, obviously, Arsenal in particular. This forum encourages all Gooners to visit and contribute so please keep it respectful, clean and topical.

Was, is and always will be a legend.
The hardest working striker I've ever seen and the mad, unpredictable, joyous celebrations were the best ever.
I read his book years ago, but it didn't mention in such detail the shit that he descibes in the interview.

The billy-big-bollox players (Bender, Ches, Frimpong etc) should be made to watch the interview every day!

No, I avoid Ian Wright's ramblings like the plague but if it comes highly recommended enough then I'll watch it later and get back to you

Quality. Loved his attitude as a player. Can be slightly annoying sometimes these days but he was the main man.

I hate it when some Gooners slag off Wrighty and TA6.They care about the club with a passion thats why you dont get the same bull you get from other ex players

This guy is an out and out legend.A player who played for the shirt.Wenger did the dirty on him in 98 when we were 2-0 up in the cup final and he didnt bring him on for even one minute.

If this dont bring a lump to your throat you are dead

Whatever and whoever Arsenal sign, now, tomorrow, when ever. Wrighty will always be my pick - attitude, desire and passion that sparkled, shimmered and glowed AFC. Top man Ian! Of course not the most 'technically' gifted we've had (before the flack starts) but in my starting eleven every day of the week.

This guy was my hero when I was a kid, I remember being so sad hearing we sold him, put a real downer on having just won the double.

Very moving interview, started tearing up when he was talking about his teacher.

The man is an absolute legend and I really don't think anyone will ever come close to him in my eyes. He was just amazing. If you compare his attitude and his dedication to what we've got now, it is incredible. Wright was a man that knew what playing football for a living meant and more importantly knew what being an Arsenal player was all about. Wright, Adams, Rocastle. Nobody else comes near.

The staggering thing is he came to the club at 28 and by the time he'd finished with us he was top goal scorer ever and most of his career at he club with fuck all midfield to support him.

That such a tallented player only just managed to make it as a professional footballer shows how fundamentally broken the scouting system was in this country back then, we'll never now how many players could have been great if they'd got their chance.

Great interview, Wrighty is an absolute legend and this interview highlights what a bunch of greedy, out of touch *word censored* the majority of today's footballers are.
