Add Grant Shapps to the list.

If there was ever a tory that needed a slap, it's this gap-toothed c**t

Just to be clear.

The guy has £53 a week after he's cleared off all his rent and bills?

And IDS is being challenged to live on one week of job seekers that a typical young person gets which is roughly the same?

So you're 23 and living at home with the parents. You've got over £50 a week in your pocket and no other bills as such. That's clear money.

And you're (not you Chippy) gonna piss and moan that it ain't enough?

:?

Don't try and be nice to me you knob. We're not talking about £53 for people like Chippy Jnr, we're talking about kids who have no parental home. You know some, I do. Most people in Surrey, Bucks can get jobs, but if you're in Hartlepool with no jobs and no parental support try living on £53 per week.

Again though, is it £53 we're talking about to pay the rent and the bills? Or £53 that's left over after you've cleared them out/or had most or all of them cleared for you?

If you've got a roof over your head and £53 left in your pocket for food but you think that what you really deserve is beers, fags, sky TV and nights out then you really gotta adjust your mother fucking expectations on what you're gonna get from the welfare state.

TBH, it's a whole can of worms going into a thread like this. I can and do speak from experience. In the last two years I've been employed and unemployed. Seen first hand what is left to live on after child tax credits, JSA, child benefit, housing benefit, council tax and the like are worked out. Times were harder than they are when I'm working but that's exactly how I'd expect them to be.

My claim to fame.

Whilst sitting in my company van at the traffic lights at the Limehouse link, I flicked a cigarette butt (back in the day) out of the window, and it landed in this motor. He was with his missus, and they were both going mental. He pulled along side of me in the tunnel and was giving it some. I gave him the finger.
Twat took the company name and plate, then called the company.
I got shit for it.

Number 5 is spot on.

The welfare state only owes people basic subsistence - a roof over your head, bills (including medical) covered and enough for food. If you want luxuries you need to go out and work for them, simples.

If you think that's harsh go and live in just about any other country in the world. Only 1 or 2 countries in Europe are more generous then we are.

This just isn't true. According to the OECD we are 11th.

http://www.oecd.org/els/soc/OECD(2012)_ ... 8pages.pdf look at table 4.

This was in 2009. Almost all benefits are being reduced this week, including all of those things mentioned by No.5. I would hazard that a large number of people on here are going to be losing out too!
