Conspiracy Theories

Prompted by DB10's loathing of the Moon Landing is a Hoax Brigade on the UFO thread (I share that loathing :D ).

There are people out there who genuinely believe that the moon landings were a total hoax. That 9/11 was an "inside job" complete with pre-installed demolition charges. That the American government allowed Pearl Harbour to happen so they could join in the fun of World War Two. That President Kennedy was assassinated by the CIA.

There are many more conspiracy theories.

I don't subscribe to any of them. Although I have to confess that when Princess Diana met her end, I immediately thought that the "Establishment" might have had something to do with it.

The most sickening recent theory was that someone in the Obama administration organised the massacre of school children in Conneticut. Just to add some weight to the proposed restriction of firearms. Thousands of sad bastards believe this to be true.

Let's have some good arguments lads

Im glad you started this thread olgit. I was going to post something on one of the other "conspiricy" threads but didnt feel it appropriate. I often read another forum: http://letsrollforums.com/index.php

I do not contribute there as I dont have the time or patience to look through the mountain of information and pictures available but I am now a convert in a way. I do genuinly belive the 9/11 attacks were nothing to do with any islamist terrorists and there are many fishy things with other "terrorist attacks" which prompt new laws especially in America. Even some of the evidance for the Boston Marathon Bombings being faked with moulage and actors is very convincing and hard to refute.

Just my 2 pennys worth.

Cheers

Although I have to side with olgit in being somewhat cynical. Apart from maybe mouthy Diana.

The one that says Prince Phillip is the head of the world government.
It is why I want to inject him with truth serum.
If it were true I would be fascinated to know the real deal...but I think it is probably not.
He might have started it to have a bit of fun though.

I do occasionally frequent a conspiracy website, or two. I like to get another angle on world news and current events.

There is also a lot of other stuff that I take with a pinch of salt,,,,,,,,,,,,and a shot of tequila.

One point on the Pearl Harbour attack, olgit. Most historians now accept that the Americans knew well in advance of the attack that it was coming, thus they moved their vital aircraft carriers out of PH before the attack. Not so much a conspiracy though. It must also be remembered that WWII directly led to America's economic revival of the 40's and 50's, after the Great Deppression, kicking it's manufacturing indistries into high gear. There certainly were elements of the US government that wanted to enter the war for both political and economic reasons but the majority of citizens were against it after the horrors of WWI so "allowing" the PH attack was a valid way to enter the war as a "defensive" or retribution-based act rather than an agressor-type act.

Diana - Definitely a cover up involving the so-called 'establishment'. Too many unanswered questions.
JFK - Absolutely an inside job. Cuba, the Mafia and the CIA all tied in.
Dr David Kelly (WMD investigator) - 100% not a suicide!

the JFK death, definitely suspicious, also the death of Pope John Paul 1, absolute inside job by the Vatican Mafia, would recommend a read of "In God's Name" by David Yallop.
While your at it check out "The Power and The Glory" also by Yallop, which exposes the lies and hype that surrounded the "murdered" pope's successor.
I know conspiracy books can be very one sided, but I don't give a fuck, I love anything that drags the Catholic Church through the mud.

If you wanted to off somebody, is a car crash a reliable way to do it? If Diana had been wearing a seatbelt she would probably have survived.

Saying that conspiracy books can be very one sided is like saying that the Pope is a little bit Catholic.

Some excellent material for future argument from all the posters on this thread.

I look forward to crossing swords when I get a bit of spare time. Meanwhile....please argue amongst yourselves. :D

Of all the conspiracy theories this is the most absurd one going. All the "theories" put forward by those loose change morons have been debunked to death but people still believe it. If there is a conspiracy around 9/11 then its nothing to do with any of the "evidence" presented by doubters so far.

A good one is that in the conspiracy theorists' minds jet fuel needs to be able to melt steel to make the buildings collapse. Errr, no it just needs to weaken it till it bends and then the weight of the floors above cause it to break and the whole thing collapses in on itself.

But the best one by far is the assertion that debris from flight 93 somehow found its way 5 miles from the crash site ("proving" it was a missile attack). How was this measured? By going on google maps and plotting a journey which takes you on a indirect route around the roads  . In a straight line the two sites were less then a mile apart

Flight 77 and the Pentagon on 9/11.
Sure is a small hole in the building or perhaps the plane lost it's wings on impact?
