The House of Cards is about to fall

Post by Rugby Gooner »

Dortmund at home was a glimpse, tonight in the (Insert your name here)Cup,we were given another insight, and in the next 3 games:- Liverpool(H),Dortmund(A),and Manchester United(A),the facade of our so called title bid will be revealed to be as substantial as Lady Gagas outfit on the X-Factor,(I saw it on Youtube-honest).
Our best XI,if fit,can match anyone on their day,but injuries,a paper thin squad, and a psychological fragility in the "big" games will see us grasping for the fourth place trophy again at the business end of the season!!! :banghead:

The United game will be the benchmark. They'll wobble their way past Fulham, get a result in Sociedad and we'll go into it after at least one poor result against Liverpool and Dortmund. We'll go up there and our rigid system will again be easily out-thought and out-manoevured and we'll be beaten with relative ease. Just like old times.

It'll then be a matter of time until we tumble down the table until our revival from March onwards to pip Spurs reminds us what a wonderful manager Wenger is and then next year will DEFINITELY be different.

It's rarely as bad as people predict.

We'll probably win or draw with Liverpool, lose at United, draw/lose at Dortmund and beat Southampton. That's 4-6pts from 9 in the league (and we'll probably still be top 3 and within spitting distance of Chelsea and Liverpool above us) and still on course for a CL showdown with Napoli for qualification.

It's demoralising that we're incapable of beating, or playing at our best, against the top sides, but I don't see November being as apocalyptic as others believe.

We'll still be up there, I reckon.

I might be mental with rage after tonight, but I think we might do Utd. I know it's different players etc but Moyes had a bad record against us when he was at Everton, and he's not really changed his style. Our lot should be up for it, as it's our best chance in a while to give them a good stuffing. Just got to hope Utd have a bad result between now and then.

But as they say, it's the hope kills you...

Do you want to add an England World Cup win and a crushing victory for the Lib Dems in the next general election to your list too mate? :barscarf:

To be fair, any West Brom fan insisting they'd win at Old Trafford would be laughed at... as would Greek fans who believed they'd win the European Championships.

Arsenal beating United is probably the least likely of the 3 possibilities, but hardly far fetched either. It's a bizarre season so far :?

Wouldn't be such a bad thing really. That could definitely be turned into a positive for players and fans alike. Bring it on 8)

I can't believe you're equipping yourself so far in advance to douse the negativity!

If we do sadly finish 3rd behind Napoli, then it isn't all doom and gloom even if you see it as me dousing the flames 8)

1. It's a competition we have a better chance of winning! (did you know it's been 8yrs since we... ah you know :( )
2. We don't have to sacrifice the FA Cup as we usually do
3. More games to use the squad against shite teams thus keeping fresher for our title challenge! :barscarf:
4. Fans get to see some new destinations in Europe

As I said, could become a positive. After all, the CL is a trophy we can't win at the moment.
