do they still matter to people ?
I always loved the fact that the club always seem to do the right thing, ie club jackets for games during grahams era all wearing the same length sleeve that the captain picks etc etc .

Re: THE ARSENAL TRADITIONS
Tradition my arse. What tradition was there when they changed the badge and turned the cannon the other way round? what tradition was there when our away kit a couple of year ago was like the Spuds home kit.No tradition goes out the window when money is involved

theres still not a proper club anthem for when the players run out the tunnel, obviously theres been a few down the years but just imagining "the wonder of you" sends a shiver down my spine, brings back a lot of bad memories of the bowl
luckily I've not been for over a year now and only go to away matches

Got a lot of good memories of The Life of Riley pre-match at HighburyHenry Norris 1913 wrote:theres still not a proper club anthem for when the players run out the tunnel, obviously theres been a few down the years but just imagining "the wonder of you" sends a shiver down my spine, brings back a lot of bad memories of the bowlluckily I've not been for over a year now and only go to away matches
Re: THE ARSENAL TRADITIONS
I loved the whole "Arsenal Way" and that it showed us as a class above and one of the greatest tragedies in recent years has been the demise of those traditions. Success will always come and go but the club, and what it stands for, should remain a constant even in those dark lean years. The fact that we remained true to our traditions during our lean years and only really sacrificed them at a time of increased success only makes the whole thing worse in my eyes
If the club and the people running the club don't respect and honour the Arsenal traditions, then how can we expect the players (many of whom are mercenary b*stards) to respect them ?

Re: THE ARSENAL TRADITIONS
Good job it was one of our club legends in Flamini that broke the traditionREB wrote:http://www.offthepost.info/blog/2013/11 ... he+Post%29

Re: THE ARSENAL TRADITIONS
Our traditions were left behind at Highbury! Only an out of touch board would have to bring in an Arsenalisation project.
Not one of those geriatric cronies had the foresight to retain the stand names and the clock at the concrete sugar bowl, and they only returned because of fan pressure leading to project Arsenalisation.
Whilst what Flamini did was not very intelligent on his part,
the club have done far more damage to the traditions of The Arsenal than one player could ever do.

Highbury was our tradition. The crest was our tradition.
We have none now. Our old club died in 2005 in the name of progress.

Good point, and as for the name, well, when we get rebranded as the London Gunners its another step in the right direction
